Black Falls new layout, extremely demanding

Post by andy »

Played the course for the first time since the 30 acre expansion. The new holes require precision drives. If your drive is good you have a great chance at birdie. If your drive is off your looking at a double or worse. There were several pissed off individules at league night this evening. The best round posted was a 58, 1 under par. This was an exceptional round by Matt, the man Silva. I unfortunately have to put my head in the sand after my horrible round. Maybe I should learn how to throw forehand. If you want to score well on this course you need all your shots. If your an amature like me you might consider playing from the red tees. It looks like Vermont might have its first real taste of Maple Hill. Thanks for keeping it real Johnny!

My favorite courses in the East happen to be within 1hour of my house. North Calis and Black Falls. I am so damn lucky.

North Calis: great host, long holes, short holes, elevation, beautiful area, challenging layout, longest course in Vermont.

Black Falls: great host, long dogleg holes, short holes, elevation, mowed grass fairways in the woods, beautiful tee boxes, hard as hell, but fair.

Thanks Paul and Johnny!

I heard through the grapevine that Black Falls will be open to the public on saturdays from June 1st to the Black Falls open July 15. Has anyone heard otherwise?

You were right. You definitely need a powerful forehand shot on the new par 4,s. I can see if you dial your shot u be looking at well earned birdie attempt. Other wise you be climbing the ladder. It will be interesting to see how people shoot at the tournament on Sat. I heard the lowest score so far is a 55 3 under. That's 7 better than my best.
