Gopher ridge Bangor Maine
Is Gopher Ridge open now? According to PDGA.com, it looks like it has reopened. Any updates on teh course? Is there a weekly league?

Gopher Ridge is closed and gone. They've even sold their baskets. It's unfortunate because it was a fun little course. They just didn't have the interest or the patience to see it through.

We (meaning Dragan Field...meaning Bob, of course) bought the baskets from Gopher, so I feel pretty safe in saying Gopher Ridge is definitely gone. From what Bob said after he picked them up, the baskets hadn't been in the ground for a while...they were laying in a back corner of the field under a foot of overgrown grass. Don't know who updated the listing on the directory recently, but I don't think they were ever entertaining the idea of re-installing the course.
We intend to install them on the second course at Dragan Field. We're hoping to have a fair number of playable holes ready by the DDGC next year (6/7/08)...not for use in the tournament (though people might be allowed to sample them), just a ballpark time estimate. Bob plans to really take his time with this design, so we have no idea how many holes will be complete by then or when the whole thing will be done and open.

It's kinda too bad those baskets were never offered to Kevin Lord as he dumped countless hours into that course with little to no return. I'm pretty sure Kevin had visions of getting those baskets and exploring the possibility of installing a free public course some where in the greater Bangor area.
At least the baskets aren't sitting in the back of that field rusting away.
