I've got a business trip next week in Bangor, and I'd like to know what courses are conveniently located from I-95 (not more than a 15-25 minute sidetrip), and are worth hitting. I'd like to try to get to Enman Field at a minimum, but I'd love to know what other courses I should check out.

I'm in Bangor all the time. You shouel play Quaker Hill in Fairfield/Waterville. It is 50 minutes south of Bangor, 15 minuters off 95. Itis a fun course. They have league on tuesday nights at 6 pm.

That would actually work out, as I'm planning to drive up on Tuesday. Was thinking about leaving super early to make a stop in Leicester  (although that is definitely off of the highway by a lot - but worth it), and then lead-footing it up to Maine.

Quarry Run is a beautiful course in Augusta about 5-10 mins off the highway. Burnsboro is also in that area, but a few more minutes out of the way.

Sounds like you are heading up 295, but if you decide on 95 instead, you can check out Dragan Field(instead of Enman).

thanks for the input guys. i've really got some good options with my time, as all I have to do on Tuesday and Thursday is drive. only real route requirement is that I have to drive south from Bangor to Portland on Wednesday to drop off my soil and groundwater samples. I know it's a 2 hour drive, and though there may be courses in between them, I'll be under a time crunch to get to my analytical laboratory by 5-6pm. it'll be long day, but on thursday I'll be able to hit whatever courses I want.

so do I hit Dragan on tuesday, and Enman on thursday? can you guys provide a good internary?

Scott, nice to hear that of 60 courses from Ny to Me that we are considered in your top 5!!!
Yes Sabatt. is from what I hear "simply the best" and "The premier course" They have done a most wonderful job over there and never hear a negative word about the course or people running it!!!
Beauty and the Beast..hey they're legends!!! One of the first dg courses I checked out while trying to be convinced to build ours! Probably most every dg'er in new england has played there.
BAP and Burnsboro, have played severl holes on each course...was a ton of fun!! Great fun courses and super people!!
Only was surprised, as I never think to check out this site, that our course, only 5 minutes off 295 on the way to Bangor rated no mention. Also after only five years of operation, I still hear people say "I had no idea you had a course here"!!!!! lol Thank You for your endorsement
