HERO wrote:Hi All--Thanks for your concern. To allay fears, no one as done anything wrong in terms of vandalism, noise, traffic etc. In fact, i would have to say that all of the players that have graced HDGC should be commended on the outstanding stewardship of the property. I have found almost nothing out there in terms of litter, vandalism, etc....a few butts here and there--an you folks know who u are..butt's=litter=NOT cool, but this is not he problem either.
As Rob put it in the post above, there are some issues and items that now need to be worked out. Details that at some point were forthcoming, but have now presented themselves. I fully expect them to be resolved, however the timing is unknown.
I am confident that HDGC will be in full swing again soon.
Again thank ya'll for your support. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Cheerio!

Too bad.....
I really hope Heros opens up again. I played there in Late August and it had to be one of the most unique courses I have played at. I thought it was really tough because a lot of the holes had really short and tight trees and shrubs which forced you to throw very low.
P.S. If anyone finds a Diablo which I lost on the 10th please let me know.

in the latest DGW they had an interview with the guy who won Am1 at Worlds, and he had a comment that rang true for me about Heroes... he commented about which course was his favorite during the tournament, and his pick was based on one course because it wasn't a deuce or die course and that by coming out at "par" you should be happy. That's EXACTLY the way I feel about Heroes. If you analyze the course, there are a LOT of deucable holes out there. But yet there are not a lot of holes that you're going to walk up and call a "deuce" hole.
Combine that fact with how easily you can have the course jump up and bite you (but always in a FAIR way, and almost always because you didnt execute properly) and coming out at par is a great feeling. But the course CHALLENGES you to do better than the last time you played there... it's just a fun, fun course.

Nothing that I know of. I am sure HERO will post and let everyone know asap.
With Fall here ...and almost gone it really was a location all of us miss. But...I believe all of us know this needs to be done and respect that Hero will do what he can do.
Hey..it will make it that much more AWESOME when it does open back up

hi all,
i just DISCovered the Heroes score card on marshall street's site and got all excited about playing a round there. i heard about the course through whisperings, but never anything more. so i started searching all over the internet and then started searching on NEFA ... and now i have come across this thread.
What a shame. is heroes still closed? does anyone know what the problem / issue is?
i was considering PMing HERO, or emailing the address listed on the scorecard, but i figured i would post here first.

If you know Hero, you know he isn't one to sit on his hands.
He has been out chopping and cutting and shaping and hanging and clearing and killing and moving and mowing and cutting and planning and thinking and doing and...all sorts of other "ing"s.
So some of you will be surprised at the changes / additions. They call him HERO for a reason.
Once things are back on track all I have to say is BIGGEST WORK DAY / PARTY / Worst disc triples? EVER!!!
Come out and show him how much we missed him and that little piece of heaven they call HDGC!!!!
