Borderland Sunday Doubles League- cards draw @ 8:45

Post by Matt DeAngelis »

Since Thursday league is over and everyone will be jonesing for some matches at B-Land, it's time for Sunday League. While I don't expect to match the level of entertainment that Rob offers, the Sunday League will be fun none the less.

League starts on October 28th. Meet at the practice basket at 9. Probably just going to do some random doubles etc...unless I can figure out an easy handicapping system. Figure on $6-$7 bucks ($5 to payout, $1 to course optional $1 ace pot).

Word.

Yeah, I looked for the thread, but couldn't find it. I appreciate the help, hopefully we can get a good amount of people out there. I know there were thoughts that 9 was too early and to push it to 10-11, but that would eat into football time and that wouldn't work for anyone.

It looks like the weather is going to be nice for our first day of league this Sunday. Meet at the practice basket at 9 (looking to tee off around then, so show up on time). The format is going to be random dubs on the W to B on the odd holes, W to W on the even holes. This layout is not played very much, so it should be fun.

Good day for golf on our first week of the winter league. We had 14 people show up to play divisional dubs on W to B odd and W to W on the evens. Winning with a 47 was JD and Dan, and two teams tied for 2nd with 48.

Steve Solbo won the ESP XL donated by myself.
$14 ace pot up for grabs next week.

Good day of golf on Sunday. We had 12 people for random dubs...with a handfull more showing up shortly after the starting gun. 6 teams played a seldom played layout, W-B odd/B-W even.

Coming in with the hot round of 49 was Matt D and Mike (not D).
Second place with a 52 was Mike D and Shai S.

Ace pot up to $25.

Thanks again for taking the reins last weekend Jon.

Hopefully we get a good mix of Pro/Am on Sunday so I can try out this format. Teams will be 1 Pro and 1 Am. The layout will be B to B on the Odd holes, W to W on the Even holes.

For the Blue to Blue layout, we will be playing Best disc doubles (normal doubles)

For the White to White, we will be playing Alternate shot doubles. You decide who you want to throw first on these holes, and order is not carried over from hole to hole.

As an example of how this will work:

Both players tee off on hole 1. Take the best lie and both players shoot from there...and so on, until the hole is finished.

One player will tee off on hole 2. The other player will take the shot from that lie. Then the person that threw first will shoot...and so on, until the Hole is complete.

See you there at 9...ok fine, 9:30 by the practice basket...but we tee of at 9:30.

I'll have forms for people to fill out on Sunday to join the Borderland Disc Golf Club. Dues are $15 and you will receive a bag tag for the 08 season with your membership...along with some other perks and benefits.
