lowell disc golf meetup group

Hi all,

I've just formed a meetup group at [url]discgolf.meetup.com/40[/url]

Trying to find out who's in the area, and see what towns can be approached about putting in a course. I've been to the Tyngsboro (where I live) rec dept, they may be interested but have no $$$. I may give a presentation in September, and it would be nice to be able to show a constituency there.

Also, I live adjacent to Dunstable Land Trust http://www.drlt.org property, that would be a great place too.

I've never done anything like this before, so the more people I have in the community on whose experience/expertise I can draw, the better.

Hey Steve,

I live in Pepperell and would be happy to help out. I am currently involved in getting a course put in at Devens and already have a bunch of good presentations, letters, and handouts we can use for your presentation.

Don't let the fact that the town doesn't have any money stop you. The first step is getting their interest (which you've done), then continue to raise awareness, and then have them set aside a parcel of land for the course. The rest will hopefully fall into place (money, sponsors, etc.) There are a bunch of DGers around that will help build the course, especially in this area.
