I need one and I'm willing to pay more than market value if I can get one before this Sunday. If anyone is willing to sell, please let me know.

check with your local Toys'r'Us. The ones near me all get thursday night shipments on the DL and this time of year almost every delivery has a couple. they go FAST tho. anyway give them a call and see if they can at least give you the delivery schedule even if they can't tell you/guarantee whether a Wii is gonna be on the next truck.

I almost had one - the son of a teacher wanted to sell his because he wanted to raise $ for an X-box which is more his style - individual online games and pressing buttons rather than the party atmosphere the Wii commands. Unfortunately he sold his this weekend - I brought my cheque in today as well - C'est la vie.

Finally got one and it was worth the regular price I paid for it. I need to stay active in the winter or I will go insane. This game system has been a substitute for my disc golf addiction.

I have been thinking of getting a Wii myself, just not sure if it is worth it. IF anybody has any feedback on the game system, it would be helpful.

The Nickel household has Wii.
Its a lot of fun, but I need to get some other games.
The only reason I could talk my wife into getting one was because it is full-on interaction with the game and body movements, not the butt on couch "pressing buttons" games we have all come to know.
What games are a must?
My high score on bowling is a 258, anybody got that beat?

Must haves for the Wii (IMO).

Zack and Wiki - This game is a blast! Its a puzzle/action game that makes you search environments and find objects that will help you solve puzzles. Its also really cheap, 29.99 at wally world. Almost as good as mario.

Mario Galaxy - do i need to say more. But really this game is killer, and will keep you entertained for hours getting those 120 stars.

Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess - if you enjoy zelda games this is it. I wasn't as impressed with the graphics (i missed the cel shading in wind waker) but the game play, controls, and story all made up for it.

These are in fact all my games for this system. I also play the sports games to death. I've heard Super Smash Bro Brawl is great but its never been my style so Ill probably stay away.

Thanks Ryan.
I have heard the Mario game is sweet.
Any opions on Tiger or Madden games?

Jack, i usually don't get into sports games except for golf games. I don't know too much about tiger woods or madden for the wii. I have a PS3 so I would buy sports games for that instead of the wii.

I would suggest checking out reviews for those games on IGN.com or Gamespot.com.

Misty has got 17 stars and we were figuring she was most of the way through the game! Yikes.

Tank,
Thats sick!
Do you bowl straight forward or curl the ball?
Regardless, 300 games are no gimmes.

brawl's sweet :) what controller you use shane? classic controller for me all the way, I actually like it better than the gamecube controller. And you'll never find me using a wiimote/nunchuck ;)

I go with the wiimote and nunchuck. Haven't tried the classic yet, whats that all about?

^^ dont know if the hotlink will work, but there should be an image above this text.

It's a plugin to the wiimote that effectively lets you play "wireless" with a "normal" controller (Wireless is in quotes since you're still corded to the wiimote, but I just sit it next to me on the couch). Great for playing Virtual Console games or with games that have perfectly fine control schemes that would otherwise work on a 'cube controller... it's probably going to be my controller of choice when Mario Kart comes out as well. I'm just so used to normal button controllers that some games just lend themselves really well to this style of controller vs the Wii standard of the wiimote/nunchuck.

i know people that use wavebirds to play Brawl as well but I actually prefer the CC to the gamecube controllers due to the shoulder buttons.

I love lego star wars. It's way too much fun and the latest one you swing the wiimote as the light saber.... The other one I'm hooked on is Excite Truck. It's wicked cool off road racing with a twist. Plus you use the wiimote like a steering wheel. Very cool. I like the Tiger woods golf. There's lots of awesome super realistic courses and there's a decent amount of control over play which I liked. I would get beat by people that have never played golf before in the basic one, but the TW one you play and think like a golfer... most of the time. If you're drinking while playing, you get less upset if you slice a $5 ball into the surf at pebble beach.

i need a wii. is it worth it?

I Wii is definetly worth the 260.00

Gary C bowled a 250 something last night and he was on fire. 8 strikes in a row!

Nothing like a 300, but still impressive.

I recently purchased Resident Evil 4 and this game is so sick. Pick it up if you like role playing / shooting games. It received 9 and half out of ten stars.

Tiger Woods is great as well.
Guitar Hero = wicked fun.

Is Rock Band comming out for the Wii?

I don't think so. That guitar hero game may be the last one made...they are getting sued by Gibson for Copyright/Patent Infringement.
