So, what are the current conditions like down burgess way?

I'm working in Chatham thursday and depending how bad the snow is i might swing by at 2-3ish to play some holes.

Josh used his studded shoes out there yesterday...

said the Dr. almost killed himself on one of the tee boxes.

So, I'd say, Not Good at All.

Won't matter, even if I'm not there Burgess still rolls MH. Although there is 0% chance I miss this, just like the odds MH has to win. Offer is open to any MH player since it seems like Bobby Buttons is all talk. Shocker.

You're probably right. I'll be missing easy birdies, and you'll be hitting big putts to save par.

Played here for the first time Sunday........... lots of variety in such a small area. Shot a boring 56(but GREAT compared to my Riverhead disaster) and my wife Carolyn shot a 78 from the blue tees. I'll be go there and i'm sure she'll wanna go too !!!

Any updates on the conditions these days. I'm bringing a couple friends for their first burgess excursion, and I'd hate for them not to get the full experience. That being said, we're going anyway, whether or not we need to wear gardening gloves (the bumps actually help).

heading to the cape next week, and it appears that this is the only DG option while on vacation. Any advice, recommendations regarding the course? Any locals that play this course want to play tour-guide?

Yes, sadly there's only one option for dg on Cape Cod for now, but Burgess is a fun course and worth playing. Some tips about the course:

-All holes are par 3 (hole 9 is a long par 3 - 400+ feet across the field)

- Flow is pretty straightforward. Hole 1 tee is located in the upper right corner of parking lot area near the road (if standing in parking lot looking back at road...look to the upper right corner of the clearing)

- Most of the holes have 2 blue ("long") tee locations except for holes 2, 9, 10, 13 and 18. Holes 6 and 13 have two baskets on each. On holes 9 and 18, you have the option to switch it up and aim for the practice basket at the far end of the field near the volleyball court instead of the designated baskets

-After finishing hole 3, walk back toward the tee pad and you'll see the path for hole 4 on the right. Also, when finishing hole 8, go to your left into the clearing thru woods to get to hole 9 tee pad..its set back a little ways from the field and its the only concrete tee pad on the course..hole 18 tee pad is straight across from hole 8's basket.

- Keep an eye out while throwing out into the field or walking in the field after throwing...its a criss cross area of not only discs, but just ppl in general, so keep a head's up before, during and after you play the field holes.

-Burgess can get very crowded especially in mid to late afternoon hours and not everyone observes dg etiquette, so be alert. Best time to play is before 2 p.m. or after 5 p.m. Locals, including myself, are there quite a bit.

Feel free to give me a shout if want a tour guide..I'm available weekday afternoons after 4:00 p.m...I'll be off Cape next Monday. 508-207-3208

Andrew,
Thanks for your prompt and thorough reply. I look forward to checking out the course. I will likely be playing very early rounds, like 7am so as to avoid conflicts with family stuff.

What's the current course conditions/Xmas forecast?

Dunne and son might need to get out of Grandma's house for a round or two on Xmas day!

I live in Sandwich (10 mi away) and have about 6" on the deck outside. Unsure on how much traffic has been out there since it snowed: boxes can get messy when no one shovels them.

I was down there Thursday for a couple rounds. Front 9 and field
there was a little trudging thru 5-6 inches of snow...back 9 was wind
whipped clean with barely 1 inch in places.
