He's admitting it (smart), but says he was ignorant and that it was basically "the way things were" in baseball at the time. What a potato-head. You can't do something, lie about doing it, then later say you did it, but didn't understand that it was wrong...sheesh!

that test was never supposed to come out.
whom ever leak it could get in some big time trouble.
so how many people would admit to it, if they never thought they would get caught?
I can think of about 100 others
The need to release the rest of those names

I hate to say it because I loved him while he was here but I suspect if anyone on the Sox was back then, it would have been Garciaparra. Do you remember how quickly his power numbers went up, then the SI cover, and then how quickly his production fell off after all of this stuff began to come out? I hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised is all I'm saying ...

It's pathetic how people act sometimes. It's certainly not right that Alex's name was the only one leaked out of 104.
The 1963 chargers were the first football team to use steroids as a part of their program. That means that it first had been used by other athletes for some time prior to that year. I wouldn't be suprised if baseball players from that era were using steroids as well. Would that tarnish the image of baseball during that era?

I dont have a problem with A-roid using. I have a problem with him lying about it. Why not let professional athletes use steriods? If it makes for a better game, I am all for it. It is their lives at risk. What needs to be done is controlling how the steriods are distributed. You are a professional athlete, you have a prescription and use under the care of the team doctor. You are 12 and trying to make the football team, no roids for you!

Great way to set an example to High School and College kids. So if they said go ahead and use then one day you found your boy using to keep up with the competition you wouldn’t blame the organizations that let pro athletes get away with it? Kids don't say well it's ok for them to use but not use so i guess I wont use. Ya Right!

Pros use wooden bats, up until then you can use aluminum bats. You can fight in pro hockey, but up until then it is punishable by year long suspentions. Different rules. I am just saying that the games would be more fun with guys that look like they just stepped out of a comic book. Why do I care what they inject themselves with?

Seems like everyone who went through texas took roids, A rod, Juan Gon, Pudge, Palmeiro.
Look at the 2003 roster, lot's of suspect juicers: http://baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/r ... 2003&t=TEX
I used to think it was sick how AROD would just blast 420 foot homers opposite field on low outside sliders. Probally just should have been a double over the second basemans head.
Here is what a true basbeall player looks like:

I don't see that type of person as a true athlete thats all.. Look at Dustin Pedroia he is concidered a true athlete. I rather watch him any day of the week. The kids all talent and doesn't need roids to keep a lot of people's attention when he's up to bat, thats for sure.. He's a great ball player all around and I have more respect for the game seeing players like that all natural. Just Sayin..

Do you have more respect for the girls at Centerfolds that are all natural? Professional sports is business and the entertainment factor is what drives this business. Sure, it is alright to watch a guy walk, steal second, get sac bunted to third, and score on a fly out, but I want to see Papi hit a BOMB! If baseball turned back to the dead ball era where you ended up with soccer scores, I would not be entertained. btw... soccer sucks to watch!

Amen to that. But Don't let tim Walsh hear you say that. He looks forward to the World Cup each year.

I see where your coming from but I rather see more Dustin's on the field. I love the sport, I always have and always will. When I was a little kid going to the park I didnt need to see BOMB's I just loved the game in general and if they took away steroids it wouldn't change how much I love the sport, but hey thats how I feel. By the way if you put up these numbers there is no way you will be seeing soccer scores unless you have all Jason Varitex's on the roster.
