R-Pro Plastic??
Anyone try Innova's new flavor of the month?
I skipped out on the Dart but just recently ordered an Aviar P & A
Hoping this plastic isnt too floppy, but maybe soft like those old JK 3xers.
Interested in some feedback

R-Pro is proving to be a very versatile plastic.
I recently picked up an R-Pro Dart to see if it'll replace my beat straight Wizard. No word on that, but the plastic is pretty sweet. Comparably floppy to Discraft's FLX plastic, but a lot more grippy. It's going to be nice for people who like Soft Rhyno's. Haven't hit anything with the Dart yet so I don't know about the durability. Some help I am, right?
I also got my hands on a couple R-Pro Bosses. Both are lightweight, I got a 155g and a 161g. I was afraid the plastic would be Dart-like; I don't like drivers in FLX because they flop too much. Not the case, however. The plastic feels GREAT in a driver. Super grippy and feels really nice in hand. I threw them in a field and the edges got a tiny bit serrated on a couple landings, making me think that the plastic probably isn't that durable. But the nice thing is that if they can make 150 Bosses, they can make 150 anything. The density is obviously way lower than Champ or Star. The Bosses BOMB, by the way.
Floppy in putters, solid in drivers, grippy in both. I like it.

Just to follow up on the R-Pro Aviar.......
This disc was very floppy, a bit too much for my liking. I was hoping for a little more stiffness, I can't imagine how these will be on a hot summer day. If they could only get them like the JK Aviar 3xs (my fav putter).
Now time for R-Wood Plastic
Maybe Innova's lastest creation will help with the floppy R-Pro ish.........
From Dave D on Pdga.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what is r-wood plastic?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is basically R-Pro with a wood filled polymer added. The wood polymer makes the R-Pro a little more stable, stiffer, and still has a great grip. It also smells like wood and is wood colored. This is just a small run to see what people think of it. We were thinking of making trophies out of this wood polymer (we still may), but when we ran it, we liked the result as a flier.
Crazy huh?

I like the R-Pro Aviar however I've had a Uh No!!! Where the disc hit the center pole and bounced out, I actually like it but I'm going to be trying out some JK's in the near future, the Dart is very fast and I'm not a big fan of it for a putter, go for it shots yes but I still haven't used it much since it first came out....I'm willing to trade it.

got an R-Pro Cro at ACT yesterday... i really like it, much stiffer than the aviar and darts i tried (didn't like the floppiness on those).
nailed a tree with it and expected the worst, but it was still like new. maybe the plastic can't last in sharp edged drivers and is too floppy for a putter... but it seems well suited to mids like this.

Here's a shameless plug...
http://marshallstreetdiscgolf.com/proddetail.asp?prod=boss_rpro
Pyramids ace pot starts at $258 today. That's worth getting a little wet. Silvers. Today's the day. Come out to see Bobby not come and say he would've hit it.

Shawn,
I'll agree with what I think you're saying...that the plastic is VERY non-durable (although I like the tactile feel it has)...but as for the "...there are better discs out there for you that you should be throwing.", I'm thinking not IF it's a totally open field and you're down-wind / no wind.
I've had my furthest throws bh (by like 20-30 feet over a 170ish Boss) with a 142 R-Pro Boss. True, they're "squirrelly" and you HAVE to go big hyzer with them, but IF you hit it right, I'm thinking they're longer than anything else.
Karl
Ps: Well, anything else but a big overhand Epic

I agree with you about the Epic
What I was also getting at is that a lot of people throwing these light weight bosses really shouldn't be. It's a speed 13 disc correct? That means you have to throw it speed 13 for the disc to fly like it was designed to. If you can't throw your fairway driver over 300+ feet the boss (even if it's light) is just hindering your development. If you have the arm for the boss and big enough hands to hold it it just might be the longest disc out there. If you have to release something anhyzer to get it to fly far it's the wrong distance driver for you. But that's more about the boss than the plastic it's made in. Why not just make it in Dx even that stuff will hold up better than r-pro, but it's the new thing. New plastic = more $ coming in. People want the latest and greatest. I can see using that stuff for putters and short range stuff but drivers....really
