You can't use the link he posted because you are not in the league yet. You need to type in the league number and password...

Consider me in but can't sign up until at my computer at home.

I'm in for fantasy. I kinda like ESPN as far as free games go. We had free stat tracking all year for baseball, etc etc.

Again, like last year, I'm going to be running a $5 per week office football pool that's run online. You can log-in and see everyone's pix before kickoff.

Steve...i know it has free scoring, but the user functionality is second to none on yahoo. Football is easy enough where you can add your points as the day goes on.

What it boils down to is that basically I think ESPN rocks in everything except fantasy games.

Not that I want to start a massive debate or anything but "user functionality"? If your talking about simplicity, yeah I can see that but ESPN isn't too confusing for Mongo.

It's all the same crap if you ask me. I don't remember Yahoo giving me BVP and matchup data like ESPN though.

There's something cosmic about watching everyone's stats compile in real-time on one page. It's like standing in the front yard with the hose on, slowly watering everything. It's almost therapeutic.

hahahaha

I'll give you that, Steve. ESPN does offer some good analysis.

The "user functionality" or "simplicity" is definitely better on Yahoo. ESPN has too much going on. I guess i've just grown very comfortable with Yahoo. Its player searches/stats are better (easier) than ESPN as well.

Yahoo has free live scoring this year anyhow -- it's a no-brainer now.

well then ...

I guess I will sign up for Eric's league, but also run mine ...

Here's a link to check out the league settings ...

http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leagueoffi ... eId=418056

I prefer deep rosters and more scoring. Rosters are 2 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 flex, 1 te, 1 def, 1 kicker, 8 bench, 1 ir

Scoring includes 6 pts for rushing/receiving TDs, 4 pts for passing TDs, 0.5 pts for receptions, and bonuses for 40+ and 50+ yard plays, and bonuses for total yardage.

IMO: Deeper rosters increase the management aspect, which fantasy football does not typically encourage. Also, more scoring makes watching the live updates that much more interesting.

I'd like to make this a keeper league as well, but the initial draft will be from scratch.

PM me with your email if you're interested.

And Ryan - I still don't have a job, so it's not like the baby is going to drastically change my fantasy sports addiction.

I don't see the bench info. How many bench spots?
Smolin has a big bench for thinkers.
I don't care what you do, I just want to know. Some people prefer to play the same format every time (less thinky thinky) but I like adapting to different landscapes too. Whatevah...

right now it's 6 bench, but am thinking about moving it to 7.

The one thing i'm looking into is the "IR" slot. I want to be able to put a player on the "IR" if he's injured for a few weeks. But IR is Injured Reserve meaning they are done for the year. So if LT goes down with a bad ankle sprain and is out for 4 weeks...I can't put him on the IR. Kind of sucks...which is why i'm considering adding an extra bench spot.

As far as starting positions. It's staying where it is. If anything, limited roster spots make you think EVEN MORE about who you want to play. It makes you think about matchups, weather, defenses...all that stuff.

All the settings/scoring will be in "scoring and settings" section of the league home page.

One thing I'm doing this year, but will consider changing it, is adding KR yards for offensive players. Thoughts?

Eric - ESPN standard leagues include 7 bench slots. Since I added an second QB and a third WR to the standard roster, I added one extra bench slot. Didn't seem too excessive to me.

As for the IR slot, since I hope to get enough people interested in making this a keeper league, I wanted to be able to protect an injured star player, without being penalized with a "dead bench slot." This also seemed reasonable to me.

BTW - I don't mean to provide a competing league and "steal" people who might be interested in your league. I'm probably going to do 3-4 leagues this season. Mine, yours, one with a close friend and his friends, and hopefully one with my brother and his friends. And I hope you consider joining my league as well, since I did join yours.
