Ideas Please !
We have a ton of talent and knowledge in our members, time to get it out there where people can find it !
Please post up suggestions for improving the board here.
I'm adding a "Gear Talk" area for all the disc/bag/shoe topics to live.
Other ideas already suggested are a spot for the NEFA Dubs Point Series, NEFA News, and a School Zone for tips and tricks of the game.

Great idea, would take some signifigant changes though. the Ontario board(which I also used to find a good course) has 34 courses and a "other courses" area. We currently have 90 courses in the NE area. That would make the physical length of the forum HUGE to scroll down to find Waveny or Warwick.
Maybe set it up by state?
A "Courses" header, with MA, NY, CT, VT etc topics below and then the existing specific course threads moved into each state?

Yeah, broken up by states would be good. It would look like this:
Courses -> drill down
*******MA->drill down
*************Amesbury->
New threads would appear at this level.
*************Borderland ->
New threads would appear at this level.
*************Buffimville ->
New threads would appear at this level.
*******RI->drill down
*************...->
*******CT->drill down etc..

hmmm.... tough call. it would be pretty organized, BUT i see a few problems:
When a course thread gets bumped to the top of the course forum, I open it. I want to see what's happenin', even if the course is no where near me.
For instance... let's say there was a thread for Mt. Kisco, and they were looking for donations for a new basket. If that thread were bumped and active in the general course forum, I'd open it and probably donate. If it were buried under 2 sub-forums, I'd probably never open it or even know about it.
Same goes for work days, hooking up for rounds, etc... I'd be tempted on a day off to go to a new course but I'm not going to look through 90 sub-forums to see who's playing or working where.

You'd still see the little basket change to a stick figure, but i'd be the individual state topics that changes, not just the "Courses" topic. You may not feel the need to look at bumped up threads in Vermont if you live in New Jersey.
The "Courses" topic that currently resides under the category "New England Disc Golf" would become its own category with separate state topics underneath.

Thanks Jenilee !
I'm really trying to make the topic titles and the description below them as complete as possible so everyone can find things. Also why I haven't actually MOVED anything into the Gear Talk section, I wanna give it some time for everyone to respond.
I'm sure the minute I DO move something, i'm sure to get a few "what the..?" and "my bookmark doesnt work anymore!!" Such is life with change..........

The best i can do is give the "Courses" topic (that currently resides under the category "New England Disc Golf"), its own category with separate state topics underneath. Then the current course-named threads would go inside their respective states.

Not sure if anyone's brought this up already or if it exists already on the site
The best place I have found to put course pics is on DiscGolfScene.com Pretty much no limit on sizes and anyone can add pics to a course.

I wonder if the Tournament Central thread could be organized by date of event, upcoming events first as they are listed on the homepage, or the events on the home page could link to the thread? It gets annoying to weed through a number of sort of tournament related threads instead of the actual thread for a specific tournament date. One could navigate more easily if there was a set structure for threads such as:
02.27.10 - Buffumville Ice Bowl
03.06.10 - Tourney 54
03.13.10 - Minuteman Classic
05.02.10 - Amesbury Pines Open
02.27.10 - Buffumville Ice Bowl
03.06.10 - Tourney 54
03.13.10 - Minuteman Classic
05.02.10 - Amesbury Pines Open

I asked around about this and the only option is to make it "Sticky". This puts the thread a the top regardless of the date. If there are more than one Sticky thread, the one that has the most recent post gets the top spot.
We had decided that tourney threads would be "Stickyed" two weeks prior to their date. If I miss a tournament, please feel free to drop me a PM.

Yes we have, and i believe the end result was that it takes up bandwidth and we'd have to moderate the possible offensive pics that some members may use.
I encourage everyone to use http://www.discgolfscene.com and you can store and post scores, pics, videos and more. Kinda like a Facebook for disc golfers. And once you link up with the NEFA club page there, all your tourney scores will autmatically be loaded to your personal page.

Yeah, HTML is enabled. I just don't think it works. Also, when using the code tag, it actually only formats it to appear as it does when in a code editing program like frontpage.
<HTML>
<BODY>
<P>This is an example. It does not work and removes the attributes that you have in your tags.
This paragraph should be center aligned.</P>

Yeah I just didnt align the headers before I did it. You will have to make the columns wide enough to fit the header but it will work.....
When you paste in the data from the spreadsheet making sure all columns are good width wise surround it with "code" "/code" tags which are used in BBCode - you will need [] around them as I just posted it and it was a blank area
