WT, TullyRock, Tolland Playoff for 1 spot in A Pool Finals!!

Post by Greg Aucoin »

Might as well discuss this now, and agree on potential location/date/format IF Tolland wins out, and WT beats TullyRock in March.

If the Tolland/Noho and WT/Tully matches are both on Sat. Mar. 27 (seems somewhat likely), and Finals are scheduled for early April (10th or 11th perhaps?), that doesn't leave many dates open for this potential playoff. There is the option of going back to back and playing Sun. March 28th, or day before Easter, Sat. Apr. 3rd, although that overlaps a 2x pts. event at FDR.

For location, wouldn't it be nice to play at Maple Hill (in part to make up for missing out on it last month, right Tolland  :D )

Format, seems to make sense to use Finals format of top 8 singles, top 4 doubles, or top 10, top 5, etc...

This could be very exciting, just throwin' ideas out there. 8-)

Your team needs to win it's next match and we need to win our next two. It could happen. TT is going to do it's best to make it happen. So please win your next match

Oh, no doubt, we will be focused and ready for TR! You know if we don't discuss/agree on this now, if things work out for a playoff, we will be scrambling to set it up, and be lucky to get 6 per team to show.

I say we make it as confusing as possible with a 3-way tie and then settle it like God intended. Drunken glo round :D :drunken: :D

It's nice you guys were able to build a little confidence playing the fluff portion of your schedule, but again you'll see what happens when you are outmatched 8-) .

Is that the same fluff portion that handed you your second loss?? I'm sure Team Tolland has something to say about that

Good job WT, and good job TT .. now comes the tricky part.. what date?what time?where?what fomat?

lots of questions, little time to figure it out.

Next Sat. is FDR, Sunday is Easter, .. what about some day during the week, say 430 tee off at Maple Hill or Pyramids or Crane Hill??... just my thoughts and suggestions... but I'm sure captains know they need to put their heads together and figure out what will be fair for all.

yup. that was why all these late challenges were up against the wire. I can't change the date now. April 10th is the only date that doesnt conflict with something MAJOR (i.e. tournament, etc.) Not an Earth Day at West Thompson... (Sorry guys). That's IF WT can win the neutral tiebreaker. after some of their members already declared a spot in finals... stay classy WT.

Friday is going to be great weather, and some people may have the day off. My thoughts:

Maple Hill! 8-)

As many as you can field (up to 15+1) Realistically, maybe 8-10 people per team can make it.

Top 6 singles
Top 3 doubles

I would think Friday is more doable for most than Sunday. Sat. is FDR where Mullen and I will be battling for 2x NEFA pts, and at least 4 TullyRockers are signed up. :D

Barre would be cool if it's not still underwater,.. I haven't been there but have a feeling lots of holes are still submerged... Newton Hill & Crane Hill are also solid options.

Aucoin brought up good friday,.. don't know who else may have that day off, but I do.

Keep discussing

Newton Hill is an equalizer, that's for sure. Bummer if Barre is underwater, that course rocks! Maybe Bobka or someone else has an update on it for us?
