Hey Farf, hey Corey -
I'm gonna try to make it up for the Deaf Ice Bowl again this year. I'm gonna try to get my girlfriend out who knows NO sign, but can sign her name and mix up F and D.

And I'm gonna try to volunteer at Deaf Nationals (whichever tourney is at Paw Paw) So hopefully I'll be bumping into you guys alot this year.

In case you may wonder, No Cash Prizes this year at Deaf Ice Bowl on Feb 4th at Normandy Farms Campground

I am thinking of hosting Deaf National Disc Golf Championship someday.

I can't think of where we could host it.

You should know more about NY/NJ more than me.

Is there any two disc golf courses nearby where we can sleep at campground ?

I know Pyramid and Maple Hill is a great place but we might have 200 people camping out.

Let me know if you have the idea where we could camp, BBQ Party and disc golf for 4 days.

Can you look around NY/NJ for me ?

If you're looking for a big tourney in the NE, really the absolute best place would be Marshall Street. Not only are you talking two excellent courses, you're looking at hospitality that is unrivaled anywhere in the nation. (I have not ever spoken to Jason or Steve about this - so I'm not saying they'd be all about it) But if they gave their stamp of approval, it would simply be the best time and the least hassle.

Outside of that, you're having a tough time finding two excellent courses near each other with camping nearby. The Northeast isn't really much about disc golf. You may have to look as far as Maine to find two great courses with camping nearby. Perhaps southern mass or CT (I'm not too familiar with that area) but I would give up on NY and NJ. Warwick will ultimately have two world-class courses on it (we're working on Wolfe Woods currently) but I don't know of any camping nearby.

If you ever send a proposal up to Jason and Steve about the idea, let them know that I will try to lend my services if I'm available, as I would like to be a part of that.

Warwick will ultimately have two world-class courses on it (we're working on Wolfe Woods currently) but I don't know of any camping nearby.

There is the Black Bear campground less than a mile up the street from Warwick.

Hey Farf, Warwick has 4 layouts, Wolfe Woods will have 18 baskets soon, and has two layouts. This gives you 108 holes to play without having to leave the park. Warwick has 2 separate pavilions that are used during tournaments their. As the Lung pointed out there is camping a mile up the road, and the nearby towns of Florida, and Warwick have grocery stores etc. Warwick will also be hosting a NT event in July for the second straight year.

There are 2 other courses close by- Buzzys has 18 baskets, 2 layouts, and is only 20 minutes from Warwick.

Camp Gaw has 18 Baskets, 2 layouts, and is 40 minutes from Warwick.

last i knew, blackbear had eliminated all tent camping at their property - it was RV and "cabin" camping only (since they built a bunch of small cabins up where the tentsites used to be). Maybe it's not 100% changed over but I'm pretty sure that was the word I heard when i tried to get a spot there for animalfest last year.

I think this is a great idea.

Deaf nationals need to showcase the best courses around the nation.

Here are a few that have hosted or will host deaf nationals.

Austin, TX (2000)
frisco/copper, CO (2001)
Wrightwood, CA (2002)
Augusta, GA (2003)
St paul, MN (2004)
Paw Paw, WVA (2005)
Estacada, OR (2006)

Deaf nationals have a bidding process that begins 2 years prior to hosting - so at Paw Paw - we will have open bidding for 2007 deaf nationals.

Some of the good locations in the Northeast - i would give props to Warwick, Marshall Street, and Enman -- Let me know how i can be of assistance in getting you guys to make a bid.

Now I'm working with Dan Doyle about New York area and Sugarbush Vermont for 10th Deaf Nationals/10th Deaf World Biggest in 2010.
