NEFA Points updates

Post by Eric Kevorkian »

How often do the points get updated?

I noticed results for Kisco were tabulated...just wondering if there's any time-frame on when the Vineyard results will be worked into the mix.

Thanks :salut:

We try and make sure the new members get added to the system before points are uploaded, otherwise it's a whole mess of extra work because new players won't have their NEFA #'s in the results before things get posted and it just throws everything off.

The results were submitted by the MV crew, the delay's not on them. The update should be going into the web today.

Ya i'm that guy :cyclopsani:

This is my first year as a member of NEFA and I was curious as to what's expected in terms of points updates throughout the year. I saw the results from Kisco on there and was wondering how long it typically takes for updates. 8-)

It used to take over a month to get updates. Now our only real backup is what I mentioned above. In a perfect world we would have Nefa ID's ready to give people when they signed up on the spot at events, but as it is we're still working with TD's on properly reporting player NEFA #'s in their results ....

there's always "that guy". they usually don't SHOUT IN THEIR TOPIC TITLE THOUGH ;)

PS: points are updated

I've noticed at least two AM2's that have been left out of the standings after the Vineyard Social. Matt Cohen and Christian Kiedel should both have some points. Not that I really mind as they actually bump Titan and I down the list, but I do feel the need to look out for my fellow Vermonters. :D

If they are new nefa members, they probably didn't have their numbers entered into the TD report.

I just noticed in the NEFA points standing we have the Dunne Dynasty kicking butt with Dunne and Son leading their respective Am-1 and Pro divisions!

sorry all, the results spreadsheet for the Utopia Open had a "blank" player near the end of the AM1 division which nuked anyone below that line on the system import. I thought from the original complaint that the points weren't given... you all weren't part of the results at ALL according to the system, so it was like you didnt even play the tournament :) issue is fixed now.

scoward, you were a different issue, was just a typo on your nefaID in the report, but you should have your points now too.

Pretty certain Paul Sullivan took 3rd in Pro Grandmasters at the King of the Hill tourney, but was given points for AM Masters instead. I've heard of double dipping, but not at a single event. Photos don't lie. http://picasaweb.google.com/chuckplastic/DevensKingOfTheHillAwards?feat=directlink#5463402427234800610 Not sure if this affects the points awarded to the other players in the respective divisions as well?

ohhh, thanks arty. paul had PM'd me asking about his points but when i looked at the submitted spreadsheet as well as what went into the database, everything seemed fine. But if he played pro masters that WOULD change things :)

I'll touch base with borelli and will straighten it out. thanks again!

You're welcome Dave. Just to clarify Paul played Pro Grandmasters at Devens. This may help as well: http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=10084#Grandmasters

It looks like something got mixed up for AM1 points at EMC. Not sure what happened, but there looks to be incorrect amounts for more than a few of us.

what's the deal? the results in the spreadsheet match what got put to the nefa site match what was posted to DGS as near as I can tell. you guys gotta help me out a little more than "it's not right" if you expect me to fix something that may be off 8-)

Point totals are way off. That's the issue. I just checked the pts and I got 50 more points than Greg who finished SEVERAL ( ) spots ahead of me.

Just an example, as MOST of the field finished ahead of me, yet I got a lot more points than them.

oh the standings, not the results. I was looking at the actual event page http://www.nefa.com/Events/eventView.asp?eventID=208 Thanks for the clarification

It looks like all of the NEFA #'s were submitted incorrectly. :( Going to have to do the lookups..... I try and look over the spreadsheets when they're submitted but I don't spot-check when a TD enters that a player is NEFA ID# <insert> - I assume they did the lookup correct themselves.

Yup...that's definitely it. I just checked the events page and i'm listed as #800.

The timeliness of the results being posted was/is much appreciated Dave!

OK I think EMC has been squared away. Everyone please check the results http://www.nefa.com/Events/eventView.asp?eventID=208 and the standings http://www.nefa.com/PointsSeries/ to ensure you received the points you should have. Thanks!
