Fab,

Buffumville is owned and managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The trees were cut as part of a management plan by the corps...it wasn't some random person or group of people out to vandalize the park or cut the trees with malicious intent.

The fact that there is a disc golf course on their property is a priviledge and they don't even charge a fee to play

Is it upsetting that the trees are gone?..yes, but there are opportunities to make some changes to the layout. Don't criticize the management when it's THEIR land

Jeez, I went through the same stuff when I took over the Barre mess. Their land, their workload, their decisions, their money. Work around it.

Be happy to have a disc course on the property.

It was so depressing the first time I saw it... but from what I hear, it was done to maintain the integrityof the dam... damn roots uplifting the dam. Great oppurtunity for new holes though, we are lucky to be able to play there.

Yes, Barre has gone through the same with too much floating brush getting stuck and having to be removed year after year. Even after the flooding this year they've done a major cleanup inside the spillway, and those planks we use for crossing wet areas will no longer be in use, they float along with the brush and get jammed into the spillway system.

Good news is the rangers are going to install culverts instead. Excellent.

I refuse to go to Buff and see it without the trees. I will choose to remember it as it was.

Me too. I hear it is the worst dam course now and that even Hodges is way better.

Love this attitude.

I remember when I discovered Buffumville, I think it was 1998, a course with 4x4 painted posts as targets. The positive changes that have happened since then due to seizing the moment, and a few people working their butts off, have been enormous and amazing.

Let's evolve Buffumville for us and the next generation of disc golfers who have yet to discover it. I'll bet there's some great design ideas out there already underway.

A couple of comments about the old design, there are some issues with conflicts between holes, and flow. Is it possible to improve upon this?

Hold on a second, Buffunville is one of the best water courses, I love throwing a disc over the water .

That will be cool but, hole 16 is the signature hole ... make sure you all don't change that one. It is USA wide known ! I saw on youtube even before i play there hole 16 at Buff! Rocks

Hole 16 used to be two holes. It was made into one superb hole on a previous redesign. I am hoping that it will be a 20-24 hole design when complete.

eliminate the mini 9 and get rid of some of that Buff rif-raf. I wouldnt mind getting a disc back occasionally. there really is so much potential in that land and i know there will be some amazing changes in the coming months
