NBC-CT recording DG segment @ WICK Wed 8/18 10:30 am

FYI for anyone available Lauren Petty and crew will be recording a Local Beat segment featuring disc golf on the morning of Wednesday Aug 18th at around 9:30am. I'm definitely looking for some players that can help demonstrate the game and maybe play a few holes...

Does anyone know if Des and Jay will be in town tomorrow following the clinic @ Wick on Tues? It's be great to see if they might also be able to help out with the video piece from a touring pro's perspective which hasn't been an angle in many of the local stories produced thus far.

What a fantastic time with the NBC TV30 crew - Lauren and cameraman Dave. Jay and Des were perfect, maybe having done this a few times before. MANY highlights - Jay hitting a HUGE putt on Hole 1 and just missing an ace on 4...........butt the highlight had to be Des throwing on 4 and hitting the cameraman SQUARE on the nose!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to hang in there and get the shot, Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!! Billy and Jeremy dominated Holes 1 and 7, Jeremy hitting basket on 7 with his bag on!?@$!

The segment will air THIS Friday between 545PM and 600PM, so set your recording devices accordingly.

Des prolly would have felt awful if it weren't for the camera man's subtle taunting of a "girl" thrower earlier on hole #1 when he was looking for low laser shots . His comeuppance was set up and executed beautifully. During the infamous nose shot he also stood there perfectly still and took it hoping for the perfect shot thinking that the disc might actually hit the lens instead of his face. Allz well there.

Agreement! Jay and Des were terrific. I'm so glad they were able to stay and help out and hopefully change the conversation of the story a bit to include aspects of the professional tour as well as the recreational component.

And Lauren who is the reporter from NBC 30 said "Best sound ever" with regard to the sound of a disc landing in the chains and kinda linked it to the same sort of sounds used in some casino slot machines. No doubt everyone's favourite sound will be a strong part of the piece.

Uh - Big Jerm had a monster drive, but not with his bag on. You're just asking for a bizarre entangled injury there. He was prolly 20 ft from the short pin, and casually putted with his bag on. I think it meant that he basically would EXPECT to deuce that hole every time. crazy.

Didn't get to see it as I rid my premises of TeeVee - though I can watch some stuff if I need to online or with an an antenna, digital receiver, and projector. Besides, mom Tivo'd it and hopefully it will hit the web sometime next week.

Wow, that's really long for TV. Des's Face Ace made it, eh? That's so awesome! ...YES! Dave the cameraman was a total pro - didn't even flinch and held onto the camera. He actually thought it was going to hit the lens of the camera, not his honker...
