Just checking the schedule, not a single sunday dubs tourney. Bummer for those who work saturdays, myself included.

I'm looking for some of the details:
Pick your own partner...for the whole season? Or can you play different events with different people, or even different divisions.
How are the points distributed, individually?
Who plays in finals, and how are parteners picked?

Finals will be on a Sunday....
Same points as singles system.....you will receive points as a TEAM
You can pick your own partner...you can chose to play with partner entire season or not...you may play in any division you so desire.....
3 events to qualify for Finals.....
some events may end up being on a Sunday..depends on the TD..
hope that explains some things
Tully will be on a Thursday

My theory on mixed is that it will dilute the women's division too much. At least this is what some of the woman who are going to be playing in this have said to me.

Mixed
The theory/idea behind the Series is to attract new members to NEFA and give current members a chance for some additional fun
The mixed division was left out for the reason Mullen expressed...along with a few other issues
We needed to keep divisions low for logistics to work better for TD's..
Tried to keep it to 5 divisions or less for 1st year...
So with that said....mixed teams will have a place to play...am/am, nov/nov or pro/pro.....
If we left wom/wom out then they have nowhere to compete except if they have a mixed partner....IMO
So next year if Series grows Mixed will be 1st divisions added
make sense..?

Just a man alone with his thoughts...that, and a computer with a NEFA app [Blatant rip-off of Etrade much?
]
Well anyway...
1. A well worked out, equitable, definitive, easy-to-understand "scoring system" which will determine who actually WINS the series.
2. Some way the either you HAVE to have the same partner (and a TEAM is crowned) OR a "good" way of figuring out how a single person could be crowned in a doubles format (see 1. above).
3. Since most people like / want / work best within "sympatico", it's best to not butt heads with that which is already ingrained within people's schedules. Once the weather breaks (in the spring), people are quite focused on "singles" - either NEFA or PDGA tournaments. So having a NDS anytime involving April through mid-Oct is probably fruitless (if the goal is to have a LOT of players playing). But this still leaves almost 1/2 year! Those remaining months butt up against the normal "autumn doubles circuit" (and, yes, some singles tournaments) but could usurp / live in harmony with them. And of course the IB season (Jan - Mar, no?). But what the heck - and has been done in the past - just combine some NDS with IBs!
4. Beechin trophies and low / no payouts (OK, you can throw your tomatoes now
).
5. Even though it's nice to have it spread "far and wide", usually if you start focused (in this case geographically) and THEN spread out (once the concept has 'caught fire'), success comes easier.
6. Different ideas like - providing we HAD a database which was available for all to access and had such information in it - doubles where the ratings of teammates had to be between x and y. Or teammates ages had to add up to years between x and y. In both cases, x and y are 2 numbers not too far apart but within reason(ableness) for finding a partner.

Karl, I just remembered this I have a post saved in a notepad in reponse..I will try to find..been awhile..lol
this makes me warm and fuzzy and is the series mission at its core
I just took 1 paragraph to keep anonymous from an email I received from a thankful parent
Thank You and I am glad the series is being enjoyed by the players

The doubles tournaments are great venues for the boys. They really enjoy
playing together as a team, especially since they are the only juniors
playing in the tournaments. Thanks for all your efforts in organizing the
doubles tournaments. Please let me know if there are other such tournaments
coming up in the southern New England area
Thank You and I am glad the series is being enjoyed by the players
