I am also not really local anymore, I live in Waltham, but I usually manage to make it out to Barre league every Saturday when I am not playing in a tourney.

I think with the first round BYE the team should be fine...gives the team a chance to settle in....It might be worth wild to keep rooster light say 12....then we are not limited to roosters moves until we have full rooster...beats filling a team then rearranging it with only 2 moves allowed..

I am an am2 player, I have solid drives and putts it is just a matter of getting everything working at the same time that keeps me out of am1.

My best rounds are 56 - 59
If my game is a little off 62 - 64
If I am having a meltdown round 65+

Best at Barre is a 58.

I understand that you want to get the best people you can for the team so if I don't make the cut this year I won't have any hard feelings. I play during the winter anyways so I figured I would try to get involved in team challenge this year.

I am playing the Buff tourney on Sat and Tournament of the Damned on 10/2 & 10/3. If you want to wait to see how I do in those events before making the call that works for me.

Well, I just wanted to say welcome to this new dam team. I am Adam "Big n Tasty" Whitten and I am one Captain for this team this year. Titan has been a huge help in organizing this team with me and we are looking forward to a great kick off year. First I wanted to invite all team members to our combined team meeting with Team Tully Rock on Oct. 1st. The location is Gardner Ale House at 6:00 PM to whenever we finish or the beer runs out lol prob. not.

This year we are looking at a great schedule with some tough matches. First we have a bye in October which will give us a chance to get together and play some before our first match. Then we have Borderland home Barre/Tully in Nov. I will start a thread today so please look and keep an eye on things. I hope to suggest Nov. 7th at Tully so Borderland can check out our new layout and tee pads. Then Jan./Dec. is Neutral with Buff. Onto Feb. away at Nono(Northhampton). Then West Thompson Home in March. Hopes are to have this at Barre and show off our other course and save West T the drive.


Now on to practice. I know we have some Sat. guys and some Sunday guys. I will try to keep you in mind for the challenges as much as possible. For practice I suggest that we attend if possible Octoberfest at Tully to get some play and team vibe. Also to get those who don't know Tully as well a good chance to play a couple rounds. This is going to be on October 24th. Then we have Nefa Dubs events new this year and that is a great place to get some team testing to get some of the new kinks out early and come into our matches ready. This is a huge importance to success this year for both the players the captains and our team in general. John Britton is hosting Team Dubs on October 30th and I suggest if able that we get some teams registered and go up and have a great day. Then we have dubs at Tully on Nov. 11th Veteran's Day.

A team member has been asked to be co captain and I really hope he will agree but if not there will be an opportunity open for someone to be a co captain with me. We are starting off from ground level and I want us to start off well and with a good plan. This will happen with 2 captains helping each other learn the ropes. Titan will continue to help us through Oct. but then he will have to attend to team Tully Rock so please keep sending team dues,contact list,interest in team, and schedule issues to Titan and watch this thread and others for dates and new news. In the future we will need someone to assist the captains in this roll and hopefully someone will express interest when needed.

Yeah, I'm in for Co.

I'm guessing there are a few out there who don't know me as I think I've only personally played a round with 1/2 the team so I figured I'd make a introduction message like tasty did previously.

So this is Alan (I also go by Al, Almac, and if your name is common with an early 1990s American Gladiator: Al Val Mac or Al Val Rhyno) and I'm technically a Devens local that just happens to play a lot of courses along the Rt. 2 area. I was on Tully/Rock last year and opted to play for Dam Team this year as I love Barre and it's closer to home so my chances of making the home matches there are that much better.

Just so we're on the same page, I do have a young son that will be 2 this winter and obviously he comes first, and that was my primary reservation about being Co-Capt with BnT. However after seeing the schedule, it looks like it won't be interfering much as there aren't a ton of matches and most are local so I'm psyched to be on board.

I know trying to get 16 schedules to line up is next to impossible but like BnT I'd encourage all players to try to get to some of these meetings/events we have so we can not only discuss things like days we can't make tourneys, potential team gear and such, but also get a feel for how we are going to match ourselves up. I think that's the most forgotten aspect of Team Challenge - strategy. If we can understand this and put ourselves in the best position possible, obviously our chances of winning are that much greater. It would be great if we can dabble around with some dubz configurations and find out how we can maximize our potential (although I'm calling it out right now, JayBob and I are a team at Barre b/c I think we were 1 stroke off the dubz record my first time playing the course).
