NASA @ Captain (FDR) - November 13th, 2010 @ 9:30

Post by J_Disc »

NASA would like to propose Saturday, November 13th for our trip to the far reaches of the galaxy.

We would like to get this locked down on our calendars ASAP since we're looking at a multi-day trip at a busy time of year.

Thanks.

Edit: After realizing the Pyramids Charity Auction is 11/20, I revised the proposed date from the 20th to the 13th.

Also sent PM to Newman.

Damn...that's my son's 2 year birthday party. Its an absolute no-no for me.
That weekend and the weekend before (Animal Fest) are the only problematic weekends for me.

Can we try another one? I realize that its not about me. I just really want to be able to attend all of our home matches.

Thanks!

Nevermind! I worked it!

I'm pretty sure that most of my team can do this date. Are we on for the 13th?

Yes, NASA is planning on the 13th -- just not sure yet on numbers. Given 4+ hour road trip, this needs to be at least a one night, perhaps two night adventure, and that just doesn't fly with family schedules.

Any interest in Hero's? Just throwing it out there. We have connections and could make it happen.

Cheers.

As mentioned -- just throwing it out there.

Bill: As Captain, can you confirm the 13th? I sent PM, but didn't hear back.

Any hotel recommendations near course? We'd be coming in from I-84.

For the NASA guys coming into the area, you might be interested in a doubles tournament on Sunday at Campgaw. The layout is the long, fun, and often punishing Mighty Layout. Check it out...

We need a start time for planning. We have at least 2 cars making the trek on Saturday morning, so the later the better. 10am?

LOL -- you're captain's not a fan of 10am start. Bill wants to start at 9. That's tough for the NASA guys travelling 4+ hours Saturday morning.

How about a compromise. 9am captains meeting to set matches. 9:30 start.

There is a no frills motel 5 minutes from the course - link below. Many local bars within 10 min. also.

Im a big fan of compromising. Good call with the Captain's meeting earlier.

I'm sure our Captain will agree to this.

I'm psyched for this one!

NASA has about 7 or 8 headed to FDR on Friday to check out the course prior to match. The rough plan is a 1pm start. We can post here as plans evolve.

For Friday night, there is also interest in taking a tour of the brewery. We've heard that is 5pm to 7pm.

On Sunday, we have about 6 headed to Cranbury. Several NASA players have never been there. Estimate is ~10am start time. The more the merrier.

Cheers,

JD,

11:00 start Sunday for dubs.

Capt. hours on Friday are 4-7. Dark at 5:00 so shouldn't be a problem. I'll likely go. Give cell a call. Saturday hours are 12-6.

Sorry can't make Friday round.
