Dam Team vs. Buff @ Hylands ~ Jan. 22nd

Post by Adam Whitten »

Figured I would start this early. A couple ideas have come up to the captains already so I want to start the discussion early to get a date and course set asap.

So where do we want to play?

Dec. or Jan.?

Any good dates stand out so far?

Hylands was brought up by Buff. What does everyone think?

Devens has been deemed danger ally in the winter so that is a no. Little Devens may still be possible??

Highlands or Pyramids gets my vote (if I get one). Or the course in Ware. Can't remember the name.

I still say either
Highlands because I've never been and I hear it's awesome
or
Pyramids cause Jason Southwick is awesome.

Good reasons all around...

pyramids would work best for me as well just in case my girlfriend has the baby id be close enough to get back for the delivery. But if the game is early enough in dec id have no issues if we put it off til Jan id be cutting it close with the due date

I'm good with early Dec, and either of those courses works for me, if pyramids maybe singles on silver dubs on gold? would work

Hylands is the best choice as far as neutral goes. But I wouldn't mind Pyramids either. I think early Dec. Maybe the first weekend.

The other option is Crane Hill??? Just throwing it out there. I know it will save a trip for one guy and is not to far for both teams and is deff. a course I know my team has not played a lot.

I also agree the first week in Dec. should be our date. Dec. 5th looks pretty Tasty and whereever we play this date sounds good especially because then we really have a rest before our teams face new opponents in Feb.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

I'm good with Devens (would be great if early Dec. before we get snow/ice), Crane Hill, Pyramids....OR Flatrock, just throwin' it out there.

I've never played Hylands and would prefer to play somewhere I've been to at least once...so pretty much anywhere but there.

Troy just throwing it out there, hylands is the shiiit. its got vibram potential in the near future. and as far as snow/ice we got a storm in worcester last night, devens is death valley. that being said i would say newton hill would be put in that category as well. ive never played crane hill so i wouldnt know what to tell you bout that course as far as winter effects. im not tryna sound like a :flower: but i just want the challenge to be a good day without someone busting there face on a rock.

IMO-hylands is very ideal for that. there is the big pavillion where we cant grill/eat, theres a bar in the pavilion. course is absolutely awesome. NUFF SAID!

Just saying that Hylands is a hike for a couple of my guys. I know most of you buff guys are good with it because it isn't too far for you but I have at least 3 guys that Hylands would be 3+ hours ouch!!

Crane hill is a pretty friendly winter course actually and I do agree that we don't need to be busting our faces off rock but it is winter golfing and it is all part of the game so on a dangerous level remember that devens has ice bowls during the winter same with most of the other courses so they are playable. And ice can be an equalizer if you think about it. So the course we pick should be pretty convienent for all. I know you guys like Hylands but we like Devens so if we cross those 2 out then maybe we can comprimise in the middle. Maybe we will give you a rematch at Hylands after we beat you guys somewhere closer!! :D

Yeah Hyland and Pyramids would by far be the best places for food and drink and party, just sayin.
Also, those courses like Devens and Flatrock and Tully and stuff, we don't generally get out there like ever, I feel like Highlands would be the BEST course to play, but Pyramids would probably be the most neutral, considering we've all played there before I'm thinking.
If no Hyland, no Devens, I'd say Pyramids.

No travel for you guys??

20 min. Isn't that far what about both teams travel 45 and go to Crane Hill??

Niether team has played there more than once........

What about some variety(other than Hylands)??
Just sayin.....

Also we got to pay greens fees at pyramids.. and it isn't really a new course to anyone on either team but it is like us saying....

WHAT ABOUT FLATROCK????
Sounds good to me...... Fun course, we will have a great time, I can talk to Frachi and use the barn and we can even potluck that one.... Like I said we have plenty of options so let narrow it down..

I'm pretty sure Hickson said Southwick would waive greens fees for us.
And I like Pyramids, Crane Hill is way out in the boonies for me/us, what if it's awful weather the road there with the one way bridge thing will absolutely suck.
The reason no to Flatrock is cause it IS new to most of us, not to you. Pyramids we all know, so it's neutral.
Hylands I get that it's a far drive for you guys, so I'm alright with saying no to that.
Crane Hill also isn't as well labeled, I can only imagine all the people that never/rarely gone there trudging through snow trying to find their way.
I say Pyramids all the way.

This is a neutral site challenge! I agree pyramids is our advantage. Flatrock the same to you. Barre LMFAO! Cranehill you said it your self Tastey it's a boring course all rh flick or lefty bh shots, and no electricity no nothing! Never mind it's in your back yard. We have the option of using hylands for our challenge it's neutral has a fire place , a brewery , pavilion, and a sweet layout. My team will still have to travel 45 min at least. Hylands just makes sense. But if it matters I can get the fees waived at pyramids because Jason Southwick is the shat! And we hold the course record of 51 dubs on gold!
