Re: Innova Wahoo...
Not gonna lie this disc is actually starting to sound not half bad for your average arm speed thrower...
I mean my girlfriend would absolutely crush this disc I think...
point being with an average arm and a finesse throw this could be bombed pretty good.
And it floats!

Especially no FAST drivers that float... Minus light r-pro bosses but those don't exactly fly too great for long

Why not, every time I throw my Nuke think "Ka-BOOOOOM".

If the flight numbers are accurate (HSS -2, LSS 2) it would suggest that it is more like a super fast Valkyrie. Katana's are complete junk IMO. I have never thrown anything as unpredictable as the Katana.

Innova needs to quit putting out this garbage. It's made with the same crap the dragon and hydra come in.

Re: Innova Wahoo...
i certainly will be trying this disc out....
i dont have the biggest arm out there, so when throwing over water (like hole 9 @buff) im intimidated enough to throw too safe, or throw something im not worried about losing.... either way, im concentrating on the disc rather than the throw....
still cant get past the name though.....

Has anyone seen the graphics / picture on this disc?
What are chances that Innova named it after the Wahoo fish (in the pelagic vein akin to dolphin, hammerhead, etc.)?

I'm hoping that's what they did because of all of the water analogies they've been using to describe it... I've never heard of the Wahoo referenced as a fish, but after hearing them talk about it, I put two and two together and said to myself, must be a fish.
No graphics, just the standard R-Pro Wahoo layout, and the classic Star Stamped uhh Stamp.
Throw discs, and forget about life for awhile...

did anyone else notice the Glide rating of 6? That alone makes me want to throw it. I will NOT throw R-Pro anything so I'll be waiting for the Star version.

Looking at innova's disc comparison and I found that this (numbers only of course) is just a floating GROOVE. Groove 13 6 -2 2 / Wahoo 12 6 -2 2.

I love mine.
It's ok, I know it takes information a little bit longer than normal to reach all the way up to the Flatrock/Tully area

Re: Innova Wahoo...
granted the name is cheesey and the disc smells like a rookie from a mile away- but all that being said I received one for christmas. yesterday I played pye brook and there were no run-up drives because of the ice. so I did the "stand and deliver" thing- and the Wahoo was crushing those throws. I only throw about 300 ft. max anyway, so the Wahoo isn't flippy for me. And I was throwing some perfect S curves with well over 300 foot drives with no run up. So as critical as people are of this disc- it will offer more distance to the 300 ft. and under club. I also think if even a stronger arm player puts a simple hyzer-flip on it, it can offer some nice protection against going left too soon (i.e. water or OB).
My only real gripe with it is the R-pro plastic. I assume it HAS to be R-pro to float- and thats why they only make one weight too- but they should consider making a star or champ version, because I'm never going to use this thing in the woods. I've read a few reviews that have said the thing will start doing barrel rolls if you hit a couple rocks or trees. They should make a "non-floating-durable" mold version.
It hasn't earned a permanent spot in my bag- but it isn't bad. Not really much of a learning curve either. My first toss I threw a low ceiling level drive with pop- and it out distanced my River by about 15 feet because of the speed and S curve.
It's better than the Dragon in terms of floaters.
And it's not a waste of money if you're looking for a hyzer-flip, low power, non-woods disc (tough break for new England courses I guess- in Florida it was pretty useful with all the water and flat-ish open holes).

Re: Innova Wahoo...
i've grown to like mine quite a bit- then i left it on the ground and it grew legs and left me. the R-pro plastic doesn't hold ink very well- even the industrial strength sharpie (they make a super permanent ink which i recommend)- and i'm assuming the person who picked it up just scratched my name right off... punks. so in my search for a new one, the place i order from the most (discgolfcenter.com) actually is selling some wahoo's in the 174 g range- which is pretty sweet since the innova web page specifically states that the Wahoo is only available in R-pro as a 169g disc.
my new red one weighs out at 174g so that's an extra 5g on an already flippy disc. (it's not flippy for me, but would be with someone who throws bombs)-

Wahoo is a type of fish typically found in the gulf.
Once you take yourself too seriously the art will suffer
