Burgess @ NASA -- February 5th

Post by Steve Solbo »

Ok, lets get the chatter started on this one.

Burgess needs it earlier in the month, or towards the middle. End is a big no-no, a handful of guys are going to play in Vegas. Got to avoid Super Bowl Sunday as well.

First Weekend: SuperBowl Sunday
Second Weekend: There are Ice Bowls, but I don't think many of us are going to NY or NJ this time of year.

12th or 13th sounds good to me!

NASA has begun discussing our February availability. When I saw your request for "earlier in month", I was focused on the 5th. I'm just beginning to get replies, but the 12th/13th looks bad for us.

I'll now include the 19th as an option, but already know of at least one conflict. The good thing about the 19th is it doesn't conflict with any NEFA tourneys (Cranbury and Buff = 2/20). It's also the "Full Wolf Moon" -- adding the very intriguing possibility of a glow challenge round. : )

Solbo: Please contact me directly -- I'd rather not coordinate through message board. Thanks.

= = = = = = = = = = = = =

Edit: Before anyone corrects me, it's actually January 19th that's the Wolf Full Moon. February 18th is the "Full Snow Moon", so that weekend is still a full moon (glow?).

Do we have any days that are definitely out? I have to work a few Saturdays but with some notice I can get any particular weekend.

I don't think you're qualified for the position. We can give you trial down at the Kennedy Space Center, but there are a lot of holes in your resume that need explaining. There are many more qualified applicants with an abundance of mopping experience ahead of you. Not trying to discourage you, just want you to be aware of the situation.

And it's all caps "NASA" there, sputnick.

Yeah, it does suck Gary, I tried my best, but for NASA, the best weekend for a full team, including the wimmins was the 5th. We got Fab back too, need to get him qualified, but hey, we still got a March Challenge then A Pool Finals!

I just hate missing challenges at NASA and going to J. D.'s house. Always such a great time there and I was going to make a big spread to bring over since JD has full kitchen facilities. Burgess can handle it without me.

Good luck team!

We will miss you Gary. Please remember that Pulpit is open by appointment. No need to make yourself a stranger. Where else can you play on a course with snowblown fairway paths through 3 feet of snow?

The plan is Amesbury at this point.

If not, we'd agree to Pulpit, I think most of our guys are familiar enough with it.

I just spoke with Solbo and clarified we're likely looking at a Pye/Pul combo. Exact format may be a last minute call depending on weather conditions. Forecast calls for a bunch more snow. : (

Pulpit will be the most playable course buried under 3 feet of snow. If you can keep all of your shots within the snowblower paths it will be easy playing.

I was thinking the same thing Joe! JD has a beautiful and LARGE HD TV in his living room.

JD has been working like a madman at Pulpit (and Pye) its just too bad that more snow is going to ruin everything that has been done to this point. I chipped in for a few hours yesterday before we played. Took 2 hours and 15 minutes for a 3-some to play 14 holes... and that was with snowblown fairway paths.
