This is way cool, I liked the video. I did a search on runner sledding here in MI and all I could find were notices that runner sleds were prohibited at various places. The powers-that-be only like plastic these days, I guess. Lawyers must have gotten involved. I use a plastic sled all winter to haul my golf bag around; its alright for going down hills, but nowhere near as cool as a sweet flexy flyer from back in the day. Thanks for the trip down a well groomed memory lane.

The guy in the video said pre WWll steel is the fastest, and he's right. My father's old sled will C..R..u..s..H anything you can buy now. With that sled, my 270 pound bulk, and the right conditions, I think I'd be competitive in that race. If only it were closer.
