Champ Roc+

hmmm... looks interesting.

the flight ratings are a little different (4,5,0,2 opposed to 4,4,0,3)... might have to put aside my general hatred of the slanted-rim plus mold to try this out.

I want to know how this flies before picking one up b/c I'm intrigued it might fly like a faster old pro classic roc. Wouldnt that be nice?

i REALLY wanted to like the star roc+ but just couldn't do it, and I <3 the slanted rims in general. it wasn't overstable enough - unless you didnt want it to be, and then suddenly you'd see some late fade. and when you counted on the fade, you'd throw it on a string the whole flight. Something about it was just too finicky...

i just picked up an "XG champ Roc+" which is a gummy version of the champ roc+

same slanted rim just supposedly better for the woods because it absorbs more impact without as much wear

i started to throw my R-pro roc really well this year, but got to a point where it won't fade. i can throw it slight hyzer flip for an accurate 270-300 foot drive, but i used to count on the fade. now it just holds the line or keeps turning- it's too beat now.

hence the champ roc+. i have a much more consistent throw with the slanted rim- and i'm hoping this thing starts out and stays just like my R-pro roc did.

how does the star compare to the champ on midrange discs for durability? i always assumed champ was the toughest.

I had a star roc + from one of the dam tourney's last year. I'm not a fan of rocs in general but I like this one... could turn it over if I wanted to or could hyzer flip it up flat and get that fade back at the end. Used it a lot more than I would have thought when I got it.

just picked one of these up from LiCKskywalker....it just pushed the buzzz out the bag. this thing is awesome. loves to fly on the angle of release. Anny releases will hold but finish with a small fade. throw it with hyzer and it flies just like a regular Roc. i got the XG (gummy) one. perfect for winter golf. 8-)
