Hey You! ACT Vll Tourney players...LMAD

Post by Kristi_Bayer »

Let's Make A Deal!

I'm digging the black putter, Gateway Wizard, that was in my, and subsequently your, player pack at the ACT. If it is not something you will use, I'd really like to make a trade or just take it off your hands ;). I'm looking forward to finally joining the club where you actually practice putting with all the same disc .

Can ya help me out? 8-)

Thanks,
Kristi Bayer

PS: Eric Maurer and K9 Mike..I'll have our talked about trades at Tolland League on Thurs. 6/16..or I'll send with Jay.Thanks

Just as a heads-up... there were SS *and* SSS molds in the packs. May want to specify which you're looking for.

edit: also, I've put a line in with gateway to find out more about that run of discs, in case I can get my hands on more. Because KB you're definitely *far* from the first person I've had asking about them. I'll see if I can hook some people up. No promises but keep your fingers crossed anyway

That seems to be the consensus Hoey. That's why I figured I'd try to take advantage of two days worth of players' packs. Unfortunately all my buddies seem to have the SS molds :(. But gonna meet up and try that one today.... I mean an S difference is better than a Magnet, Dart, JK practice set...right?

it will definitely mess with you less than the grab-bag pile :) From handling both molds we got for the ACT, the discs are pretty much what you'd expect from the "S difference". the SS is stiffer in the rim and not as grippy (but still is pretty grippy for sure), while the SSS has a lot more "stick" to the feeling of the plastic and bends a little more without being a "floppy" putter.

definitely NOT a fan of either the SS or the SSS or the SSSS ... just the single, solitary S for me ... Hoey knows what I'm talking about ...

When buying Gateway putters...if you find one you like, buy several at a time cuz you don't know when you're gonna find that same type again. I've been hoarding my chaulky SS wizards for a year now...up to 13 :D

I live in Brooklyn and work in Storrs. I could use innova putter or midrange if you have something available to trade.

I found this article on Gateway's website. It explains all the different variations within each putter and why you can pick up two putters both marked SSS and still have variations between them. Very interesting read. Sounds like the best way to shop for these putters is to go some place that has a bunch of them and just go through them and feel them out for yourself.

I could make it. Weather reports don't look so great though. I'll pm you my cell so you can call or text me on Thurs. I'd rather not drive out there for nothing.
