Cool Tournament Mapping Site

Post by Scott Howard »

I see this site has some event series other than just PDGA. I have no idea what kind of work it would take, but it would be cool to see the NEFA Series pop up on this mapping site. Or MPS....

http://dgmapper.com/

It will probably catch on to a lot of people so it could also be good promotion for NEFA.

Thanks for posting a link to my new site! I hope it's coming in handy.

I'm actually in the process of taking a feed from the schedule page here at NEFA.com. As long as the structure of the tourney listings there stay consistent format, my feed will work fine. It will recognize new/changed NEFA events and automatically add them to the dgmapper map, with links back to the tourney pages on nefa.com. I'm planning on only grabbing tourneys that are listed here with "NEFA 1x" or "NEFA 2x" and not listed as PDGA (as I already receive these events from pdga). I'll probably create a new map marker icon with "NE" on it to denote NEFA events.

Is there a smallish NEFA logo I should use next to my links to nefa.com?

I have a few enhancements coming along with this, so I'm not excactly sure how soon I can get it finished, but hopefully before I leave for Am Worlds this Saturday.

Yep, that's one of the goals of my site...get more people interested in tourneys they perhaps didn't know about. As well as getting more people visiting the various league and organization sites like NEFA, Southern Nationals, PDGA, etc.

Yeah, a logo file would come in handy, I suspect I could have the NEFA events up on dgmapper.com by tomorrow evening.

I have the NEFA series code ready to go, but this will probably not get rolled out to the live website until early August along with a couple other small things. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks for doing this Aaron, do you still need the NEFA logo? If so, just let me know and I can work on that for you. Would it be possible to embed the map into our site?

The NEFA series is now up on dgmapper!

I ended up using the red logo from the main site, and shrunk it down. If there's a logo you'd rather have me use, please send it my way.

So, dgmapper only shows upcoming NEFA events that are *not* PDGA sanctioned (these I already get from PDGA). dgmapper mobile should be showing the NEFA events as well!

As far as embedding dgmapper... I currently do not allow embedding, but that could possibly change.

Just wondering if anyone has noticed issues or has any feedback on the NEFA event listings on dgmapper. Let me know, thanks!
