I was thinking of trading up, one year, 2005 for a 2006 same make model
my car needs some work and has lots of miles
2005--195,000 miles-- trade for 2006-- 70,000 miles
my car plus $10,000 and I'm in..
Any advice?

Big factor is how much will the work on your car cost?

Mileage isn't a huge thing to worry about like it was back in the day, but dropping 125k miles is significant.

Also, did they offer the 10k? If that was their first offer you can def. get that lowered. With people hurting for dough, car dealerships are hurting for customers, so the customer has all the leverage.

Also, lie and tell them you test drove whichever Toyota product is similiar (hylander?) and they offered you: your car and 7.5-8k. You'd much rather stay loyal to Honda as you've had no problems, but they're going to have to work with you to remain loyal.

Go with leasing a brand new car...that's what I do...very little out of pocket with trade in (even one with high miles),low monthly payments and absolutely no maintenance worries...but it all comes down to how much driving you do in a typical year...if it aint much, leasing is a no brainer imo

Thanks, decided to keep my car and go repair route. after i drove the one year newer car mine was better than i thought,
repairs could be a lot, but it will be paid off in a few months and the thought of paying $1000 every 3 months got me going the repair route, i need 2 sensors, converter? full service/tune up and poss breaks.
