Food for thought re: NFL rules
Pretty interesting and imo it makes sense for the game:

The most exciting play in football is a kick return TD. I hate seeing the opportunity for that reduced.
But I agree that the extra point is pretty worthless. I can't imagine it ever going away though...

The most exciting play in football is one of the Steelers 4 pro bowl linebackers decimating pretty-boy Brady with a viscious sack.

Actually, its watching the Pats shut down the "vaunted" Steelers running game while simultaneously carving up their D and making Worthlessburger look like a rank amateur time after time after time.

That's a "play?"
You're just pissed because Tommy-Boy looks like the Luis Scola of the NFL with his South American, Giselle-demanded hair-do. I would be too, but thank god I hate the Pats.

Re: Food for thought re: NFL rules
Harrison, Farrior and Woodley already have one and with Timmons it's just a matter of time.
2010:
Mayo 114 tackles Timmons 95
61 assists 39
2 sacks 3
5 passes defensed 10
1 forced fumbles 2
3 fumbles recovered 2
0 interceptions 2
not too far off

Mayo will be completely different playing on the outside with a revamped D-Line... Timmons has hit his ceiling... Farrior is old 36.. for a LB? lol. Harrison is getting there, 33. Woodley and Timmons have average stats for LB's in 3-4 systems at best, look up Bruschi and Vrabel for elite numbers in a 3-4 system.

Timmons is 25 and in his 3rd season as a starter! Steelers linebackers are consistantly the best in the league--Vrabel couldn't even crack the Steelers starting lineup before the Pats got him. Farrior had 80 tackles and 6 ints--for an inside linebacker--he's got plenty morre in the tank, fella.

Re: Food for thought re: NFL rules
I heard a great idea for extra points: A TD is worth 7 pts. The team can opt to go for another point to make it 8, same way as current "2-point conversion". If they fail, they lose a point to make it 6.
I don't like the idea of killing the kickoff. Special teams is a big part of the team, and it adds another dynamic to the game. Not to mention position players on your fantasy team get a chance to score some bonus points! I think they should take away the touchback unless the ball goes out of the back of the end zone. If the receiver is downed in the end zone, then it's a safety.

Reminds me of your Swisher posture from two years ago that proved to be 100% wrong. We'll compare Timmons #'s to Pats LB #'s at the end of the season.
Then you'll be thanking me.

Not comprable, Pats will be running more of a 4-3 this year. Steelers still run the 3-4 they should have better numbers in that scheme, they are expected to make plays.

Not comparable is right now that you mention it. Steelers D blows Pats' away. 4-3, 3-4, 5-2, 2-5, 7-1, 6-2 take whatever scheme you want....
