Beauty Hill is located off Route 28. From Concord take I-393 East, Route 4,9 East until the Epsom traffice circle, then head North on Route 28. Sometimes GPS's will try and send you over a non-existant road, so make sure you are coming via Route 28.
In case of poor weather, we have a large barn which we can partially heat if it gets really cold. We may also have a campfire.
As this is the Granite State, trophies of engraved granite will be given for 1,2,3 places.
Ties for First place will be a sudden death playoff on holes 16,12,18. A CTP would then be used if necessary (hole 18 orange tee).
Ties for 2nd or 3rd will be a CTP throwoff to decide who gets the trophy.
Pros will get cash, amateurs will get Funny money to our disc golf store run by Community Disc Golf. They will have an on-line store up real soon.
You may enter our pumpkin decorating contest. Please bring markers if you are interested.
We will have an optional ACE pot costing $2. If no winners, we will have a CTP throwoff.
We will have a CTP pot for $2. It will be from the 18th Orange tee at the end of the tournament.

Re: Official Tournament Information
Sooo....Rick Williams who finished 3rd in MM1, and would have been a lock for an invite in that division, get's shut out of finals becuase he also opted to play in enough tourneys to qualify in MPG? Somehow this doesn't seem right in my mind. We do want to encourage players to move up to higher divisions as they improve correct?

It's so hard to forsee these things at the beginning of the season and so many factors can change the outcome. Rick has a personal "rule" of his, regarding where he plays in PDGA events and he's done this for years. He's played MPG and MPM before.
Yes, Rick is bummed that he's out but he's still gonna be there.

Re: Official Tournament Information
If my memory serves me. I seem to recall that during this process during last years finals people weren't removed from lower divisions unless they got in, in the higher qualified divisions.

Points Charter was changed this year to elminate the shuffling.

Re: Official Tournament Information
I thought it was changed to clarify the hierarchy of the divisions as there seemed to be some grey area amongst the gender & age protected ones and where they fit in.
This should probably be a discussion for next year, but I think the charter should have read;
Players who qualify for the Finals in more than one division must play in the highest division they qualify in (Change to: they're invited in), according to the following hierarchy: Pro Open, Pro Master, Pro Grandmaster, Pro Women, Advanced Men, Advanced Master, Advanced Women, Intermediate Men, Intermediate Women, and Recreational.
NEFA is responsible for inviting the qualifying players, and for providing the divisional payouts.
Forget about this specific instance. As it stands if a player finishing top five in AM1 decides to try and move up and finished DFL in every attempt at pro open they'd lose their chance to play at finals. That doesn't make sense to me. I would have thought the intent behind being forced to play in the highest qualifying division is to prevent sandbagging...not penalize a player for trying to move up.
BTW, Jeff...feel free to split this thing off and move it to NEFA politics or something. I started this conversation in the wrong place and it's drifting way off from the thread topic.

Re: Official Tournament Information
What I don't understand is how the am1 Division has over 20 invites and a Pro Grand Masters Division only has 5 invites. Is there a ratio used for how many from each division gets invited?
Rick, I feel your pain! We both want to play!
I planned all my events to get to the finals, then found out that only 5 people were invited.
Oh well, I wish everyone who got invited the best of luck!

Rick Williams wrote:Total number of players qualified is 129. Total in the finals is 72. So 72/129 = 0.558
The number of players qualified in each division is multiplied by 0.558 to get the number invited to the finals. For example, in Pro Open there are 25 players qualified. 25 x 0.558 = 14

This is one way to calculate the breakdown.
Another option is to base it on the participation of each division across the entire points series. Since each player pays in $1, you could look at the total $$ paid in per division and base the number of participants from each divsion on the % of $$ that that division paid into the total and then allocate each division's share of the total player pool (72).
Not sure if it would change anything.
Ruthless Pragmatism.

If the correct numbers r plugged in
i also believe 2x events were counted as 2events played in am1

The divisions that require more events to get qualified would have more invites to Finals.Ken Gary wrote:This is one way to calculate the breakdown.

Re: Official Tournament Information
I am assigning foursomes by point ranking within divisions.
MPO are holes 1-4
MPM hole 5
MPG hole 6,5
MA1 holes 7-11,16
MM1 hole 12,4
FW1 hole 18
MA2 holes 13-16
FW2 hole 17
MA3 hole 17
There might be some last minute changes the day of the tournament depending on noshows and waitlist as I will try and keep players in a division together.
Saw quite a few players this windy weekend! Weather is looking good!

Manchester is about 45-50 min south of the course and looks to have a bunch of hotels.
North on I-93 is the Northfield/Belmont area...... there's a few hotels there also.

I live right outside Manchester and it's about an hour to get to the course. It's not a bad commute, particularly with no traffic on a Saturday morning, but Concord will definitely be closer.
