I turned up some interest last weekend about a course in Enfield with some officals. Some ideas are proposed for around Town Farms Rd. I will be putting together a package to present soon. Any supporters?

Crane Hill has a lot of dedicated players - this may be the closest course to the proposed location (probably equidistant to HCC, and throw Tolland in the mix, pretty close also). I would find it hard to believe with Jeff and Pete Pure Flight and the added efforts of all the crane locals/tolland locals/HCC that you wouldn't have a lot of support and excitement for another course in the area. Pioneer Valley Disc Golf growing and blowing up! Let's get this in the ground! :thumright:

That's what I figured. I am looking at the packages from Innova, DGA, etc. It looks like the land is available to develop. Gaining support from the community will help even further.

Hi david, I will absolutely love to be in your interest group. I play mostly at wickham and tolland, and live in ellington so enfield is real close for me. I am also running a tournament in tolland this summer july 8. Check it out. Kepp up the good work man and look foward to getting to meet you.

Figure somewhere about $500.00 to $550.00 a hole that covers chainstar baskets in the ground with locking collars and cement, tee pad work - wood and flypads and some signage.
So 9 holes in the $4500 to $5000 range or 18 holes in the $9k to 10k range. Buy as much as you can in one shot to keep shipping cost down.
Best to try to get as much as you can up front, because bleeding them for additional funding after the fact is like pulling teeth with a nail file.
Ultimately $12k will get you top notch equipment, signage, benches, kiosk, etc.

This can all be done for cheaper, but you will get just that, a cheap course, that isn't as much fun to play.
It's better to do it right the first time, then you don't have to keep going back to the well.
It is still dirt cheap as far as recreation goes. There will still be an ongoing committment of time into the course aside from the money in. Be prepared. Being the course rep is a task that keeps on going.

Looking to push the Enfield Disc Golf group or club thing again. I spoke with the 1st selectman about the course in Enfield. He wants a group, club or Committee formed to show interest.

I was thinking of a meeting at the Library ?

Any Thoughts?

Any Takers?

Just when I thought the idea was dead, they approached me this time. Could at least be a 9 hole. or a small 18. more to come.
