Dam Big One, Nov 12, 2011 - West Thompson Lake DGC

Players listed below are invited to compete in the Dam Big One, November 12, 2011 at West Thompson Lake, N. Grosvenor Dale, Connecticut. This is the final game in the 2011 Dam Series held at Corps of Engineer dam sites in New England. Anyone who "placed" in any of the dam series tournaments--winning cash, prizes or trophies--are automatically invited to participate. All divisions are being offered. Players should register in the division (or higher) in which they played to win an invitation. No "joeyak" moves down are allowed. All winnings will be in CASH. Added cash to date is $853.

Registration fees are $40 for all pros, and $30 for all amateurs. Day-of-event late registration fee is $10 extra. Pre-registration is encouraged by sending your name, divison, and fees to me at the address below, or to paypal.com. Field is limited to 72 players. PDGA rules will generally apply.

If this tournament does not fill with invitees before Nov. 12th, anyone may register day of the tournament. No pre-registrations for non-invited players.

Cash and prize contributions are welcomed. Recommended donation for Hole Sponsorship is $25.

Whats the different if they play league and take $$? This isnt a PDGA event so I disargee with your statement above.

Of course he can pay cash at unsanctioned tournaments. Agreed. It's well within Stidham's purview to do as he wants with this tourney, I don't question that for a moment.

My comment was more about my bias when it comes to the nature of amateurism.

I would say league payouts are basically organized casual side bets.
