Currently holes 6, 12, 17 and 18 are unplayable and will require serious cleanup. Hole 6 will be handled by the grounds crew. The rest are up to us. All things considered, I'm amazed there wasn't more damage. Trees narrowly missed some of the baskets.

Re: HCC storm damage
I'm heading out with my chain saw on Saturday, Nov 13, at 11 AM for a couple of hours of clearing. Anyone care to join me?

Re: HCC storm damage
Thanks for helping out, Ed. I'm tied up with meetings this weekend, otherwise I'd be there. BTW, Saturday is the 12th.

Re: HCC storm damage
Thanks to some great work today by Ed Faits, HCC is now playable again. It's not ideal yet, of course, with lots of branches still to drag away. But he was able to clean up most of the big problem spots. Hole 6 will still need work (by the grounds crew) but it can be played through in its current state.

Joe, Josh, Jacob and myself did some maintainence while playing yesterday after Noho league. Dragged some limbs away from baskets and knocked down the dead leaning tree on 12. Most of the madatory stuff is all pole saw work, which we didn't have. Other than that, the course is playable.
P.S. If you need some firewood, come visit hole 17.

Re: HCC storm damage
I lost a disc trying out new Hole 8 the day of the big cross country meet-- probably in the piles of brush somewhere on the right hand side of the fairway above the fence. It's an oak leaf colored Innova Champion whatchamacallit, in case someone can distinguish it from the ground cover
Chain bondage is good.

Re: HCC storm damage
I was out on the course today attempting to clear leaves off the fairways. Given the fact we had torrential rains last night, it was probably folly in the first place. After using up all the gas in the leaf-blower's tank, I managed to sloppily clear just holes 7 and 8. It was sort of like moving a heavy blanket. The wet lump of leaves would rise up and then collapse back down in the same spot. I really wanted to clear holes 16 thru 18, but that will have to wait for another day.
After all that work, I didn't find your disc, Davis.
