Rosters

An unintentional thing happened this last challenge. It has come up before too, but it never seems to matter.
Hyland had 15 for the first round and only 14 players for the second round. Not a problem, the match was probably out of reach.
But, there really were not enough points available for them to catch us. What would have happened if the roles were reversed and we were behind?
We always say you have to play the same # AM and PM, but what if someone cant play due to injury and leaves your team short? is it an automatic win for the other team?
Again, no reflection on the brewery team. It wasn't the first time it happened and Roy was bummed he couldn't play.
Any thoughts?

No harm no foul

Exactly. This time it meant nothing.
But, lets say we both bring 18 to the next challenge. 36 total points would be up for grabs. If you sweep us in singles and then sit 3 players (or they leave, are hurt, whatever) it would not be possible to catch you guys.

This is one of the reasons why I wanted alternates. We would only play 16 per round leaving us with 2 players each to sub in for the injured or whatever.

I thought we were only playing a max of 16 per round?
As for the scenario - I think that if I knew in advance the numbers for both rounds it would be fine - numbers changing after the first round could be sketchy.

First and foremost, captains can agree to whatever they want as far as rules for their match. If both agree, then let them do whatever.
However, it is my opinion that the same or greater number of points are available for the second round. If a player gets injured, then one team needs to play single vs a doubles team for the full two points. Alternatively, the team that lost a player would give the other team a point and both teams put up a single match during the second round. Again, keeping the same number of points in the mix.

So, do some teams need to update their rosters before the next challenge?

Besides a fruit, what's a "Cranbury?"

If you wanted to know who is on Maple Hill's roster, why wouldn't you just check the "Roster" thread.
Now what's a Cranbury?
