Bicentennial Park Holtshire Road Orange MA WORK STARTS 3/16

Post by Titan Bariloni »

3/15 Thoughts become things.....instantly!

Green light given by Town official with the proper authority and work starts Friday 3/16

KAboooom 1st of many
___________________________________________________________

We have a walk through planned soon with the supervisor of the property...its juts a formality until this is reality

Bob Picard and I did an extensive walk through and this is the tentative layout to start..a future back 9 is in the thoughts..just gonna take some time

5 minutes from some tully vets(around 10 of us) so I am sure this place will be a gem one day once we get our hands on it.

a rock throw from RT2 so the RT2DGC will have its home base soon!

more details in coming weeks

the distances are real rough and basically just for a reference in area, size of certain land runs

I would assume average distances will come in around 225-350 once final product is released

that juicy area of land behind pond is a straight up mega cliff and is almost land locked so it would be a no go..in future if course is expanded to 18 there is a way to get the way back and link back to pavilion..actually the back area is crazy legit and I hope one day we get back there

ok so apparently I can't post those pics the way I was trying to...

working on solving that now..TY Troy D
should I just create a picaso account for RT2DGC and display pictures there?

Troy any luck with the images?

So I wanna get the baskets with zero $$ from the town, nefa

This course to me is a great intro to DG but it is also the closest course to my house I will ever have well at least at my current address...this holds true for many others so I wanna see peeps step up from here and I have real solid leads from local business sponsorship in the works for a few..we only need 9 to start so should be easy

going innova sport or db5 so prices will be from 180-220ish we shall see

I will be giving credit to sponsors in some form..via various platforms

So Far we have solid commitments(100% know they will make it happen)

1.Titan & RT2DGC
2.Mattawa Matrix Bob Picard
3.Play Boy Troy D/?
4.Derek Scovy/Rob Germain
5.Adam"Tasty"Whitten/Bill M
6.denny barrows/jimmy k
7.local business TBA soon
8.local business TBA soon
9.Confirmed for half JOE H/ and ?

9 hmmm sully, hamilton, franchi, petersham another local business?....we are close I am sure the 9th will be claimed!

how things can change in just a few days after a lil pre work!

As a purely outside observer I want to commend you on turning all these good thoughts into reality. Great work expanding MA disc in many dimensions!

ty Troy

what method did ya end up going?

I have some google earth layouts for a few future projects would like to put them in thread openings in near future for discussion evolution

I will also creat some kinda of way to store photos and just post links to them to save band with..but do want at least each course to have visible map in thread

again

TY

pss...pray that GCC says YES cuz it will be sick!

also those hole designs are real loose as its more to depict where abouts holes will be cultivated

I have a grasp of the overall land now and if the future were to include another 9..so I had some design issues to ponder...

so this layout above will be the rough design as it will still allow fusion of another 9 in future..putting in 9 at a time takes a lil extra pre planning so ya don't cause to much/any rework

I will be putting survey flags out Monday as I have holes in mind and land basically dictates flow/course here....3-5 holes are beautiful..1-3 are semi challenging and 1-2 easy 2's so I am comfortable with presenting a final design product to Town Park Superintendent for approval to move forward!

work on parkinglot, pavilion, trails, hole 1-3 will start as soon as GREEN is given

I expect that to go smooth as the town has volunteers lined up as well actually "many" was used

4,5,6 are basically there and just need tee area prep, some dead cutting, green clean up(mild)

7,8,9 will be the "BULK work" of this project IMO..but is close to road/cartpaths to access

with 9 baskets spoken for once the final GREEN is given we will have first RT2DGC meeting gather $$$(I will try to make sure all who stepped up can be there) and order on spot!
installation will begin as soon as they arrive in mail as we should have 3-6 holes done by then!

TY

update next week...

dam waiting for green light sux...

In the meantime we have gained full support from area businesses/clubs related to hiking, paddling, outdoor stuff, all neighbors/abutters of the property encourage the positive change, all the $$$ is waiting, design is basically done(and potential future 9 have been given thought to over all fusion of course) except for creative touches when some undergrowth is cleared, local support, volunteers

This afternoon Bob P and myself cleared the roof of the pavilion..couple inch layer of debris 30 years of pine needles...man our shoulders are beat the motion involved was similar to roof raking...we got most of it nice and bright and hopefully now that it is cleared mother nature can wash the rest down...

We also swept, picked up trash, started to rake around pavilion, cleaned storm damage....

Next while waiting we will continue to clean around pavilion..as a general citizen of the Town it is a joke and if this gets RED light for some reason we don't mind cleaning the mess up anyways as I will use the land for other things until the green light....although

I suspect GO by end of this week

TY

many many hours spent on scene by the lyman MEN...I am very grateful and may celebrate the4 day the lymans found DG as my Christmas..I have always loved that family and everyday I am reminded why..they are truly awesome people

we will have a speed bump soon when they log the place...yeah yeah I know go to put a DG course...basically reaching home base and bam...we are gonna crush this place soon with machines..grrr but we shall overcome and basically turn it to a positive

we need to speak with water dept cuz they want in the loooop..so monday I shall fill this request...I love southwicks post just cut it in then get the permission from the right PTB.....lol..seems to work better

so we shall see what comes of the meeting...and get the timeframe for the "logging" and then we shall put 5 baskets in for the holes not affected by the "cut" and go with old Flatrock baskets for the 4 that will be in danger of damage from the cut...so minor set back but hey now we have a chance to just make it a gem from the start..yeah more work but everything great is hardwork....so we shall do what we can and see what happens

the property looks amazing from when we first arrived.....you can actually walk for starters and everyday progress had been made by some dedicated work horse

I am blessed to be surrounded by good people...we will all make DG shine for years to come

again Thanks to all who have slaved out there

guy my eye hurts like a motha f'er from those tree hits...can't get this bark hopefully it is gone when I wake up

all day Friday cleaning around pavilion and woodchips....in anticipation for the FINAL walk through and 2nd approval by the 2nd piece of the puzzle
