Logo or Course name Suggestions

Post by Tim Bishop »

I am looking for a few suggestions for a logo or course name for the new course at Petersham Country Club. Baskets are ordered and will be place out on the course hopefully by April 1st. April we will be asking for input on how things are and will take a month to see how everything works.

Please have patience with us, the golfers and the design.

He's the best golf course architect ever, IMHO. Many golfers agree. More major championships have been contested on a Ross designed course, than any other designers courses in the US.

Alastair McKenzie made some gems. Tillinghast made beauties. RTJ needs to install the playability of his courses.

Tom Doak is the reigning design master here in the USA. His principals, ideas and theories are like no other designer in a long time. Read his book Titan. It's called The Anatomy of a Golf Course. Mention it to Tim and his staff and maybe one of them has read it.

Many design features incorporated into the build process of disc golf courses are hokey. Simply because all too often the person behind the design has very little understanding of the design process. Hell, Harold Duvall would be laughed at by Ball Golfers. They would refer to his design ideas as silly in a way like miniature golf is to real Golf. They are two different sports.
Kinda like the Vibram OPen and the USDGC.

Ross Run. Just do it.

I enjoy design and reading design theory ect ect..I also enjoy the work that follows after design

basically I am enjoying all aspect of the game besides for playing...lol

we can learn things from Golf as they can from us

the stadium theory is interesting and I would love to see DG try this model somewhere

also have explored the too many courses issue that ball golf recently had issues with and DG needs to take lessons and maintain sustainable balance when creating new courses..something we have no control over but can at least have influence on the decision making if we are present and vocal in the community

basically I am very happy as of late
