VIBRAM OBEX......

Post by Dave Jackson »

it's fun to let people throw my Ibex. I use them like loaners to anyone interested.

Before they go to play a round with the Ibex, I say, " I-bex ya' throw that disc straight".

Like REAL STRAIGHT.

So yesterday I was talking with the Inernational Sales Manager for Vibram Disc Golf  and low and behold he pops out a proto-type disc.

THE OBEX!!!

Yup.

I would describe it as reliably Stable.

When I think over stable, I think Q-Sentinel, Hornet, Gator type discs.

This is more KC Pro Roc and Flat Buzzz stable, which to me is better for control.

I made this really great post about it an hour ago and when trying to post it, I f'd it all up. I don't like computers. I like backhoe's

More to come and yes they are coming out this summer.

Being buds with an Engineer for Vibram is awesome.

I threw the OBEX during league tonight and loved it.

Just enough more stable than the Ibex.

I got one at Maple Hill to bomb with. C'mon up and toss it!!!

Played my first birdie-race with the OBEX and a wizard today.

Scored my highest yet.

The predictability of the OBEX is great. A little more predictable than the Ibex, IMO.

Can't wait to throw a firm OBEX. The X-Link I have is softer than I am used to....

Any idea when we can expect to be puking these through the tightest of gaps in pdga events? In other words, any update on when will the pdga approve this disc?

"The Obex is an overstable midrange which complements the stable Ibex. Offering a smooth, natural release, this disc loves a headwind and has a surprisingly long glide for an overstable disc. If you need to guarantee your disc does not fade, reach for the Obex. Available in X-Link and X-Link Firm compounds. With the Ibex and Obex mids, Vibram has got your approach game covered."

So, which is it young feller? Is it overstable, or does it have no fade? Cuz if'n it's overstable, it's probably gonna fade. And if'n it has no fade, it's probably not overstable. ya see...

I don't know the line but I could (mitch) guess. Logic dictates that his best movie was Leaving Las Vegas. He won Best Actor. But I have a sneaky suspicion that it's Raising Arizona that you're talking about.

Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to! Sorry that's Jack Nicholson.

Me thinks "not fade" should read "not turn over". Bc it fades real nice on flat throws and fights back when I throw it w anny. That's the noodle arm perspective anyway.

Video Review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU4PjoO_HLA

The disc is stable to overstable and I should have said it does not turn. I've always had confusion in my head about those, kind of like when I'm really thirst and I'm trying to unscrew my drink bottle and I say to myself, "righty loosey, lefty tighty". Ugh.

The PDGA should have the disc approved before the June 28th release date.

We will be doing an Obex throw off at the West Thompson Open. It will be a great chance to throw one and try to win a couple.
