Pulaski State Memorial Park is OPEN to talk about a 9 Hole disc golf course on 100 acres open year round FREE of charge.
If everything goes well I am sure it could be expanded to a full 18.
It is a beautiful clean Park and would need to stay that way. (NO CANS or bottles) you take it in you take it out.
Swimming in the summer and restrooms in a few spots throughout the park.
They would like to meet so I guess someone that knows how to pitch a Disc Golf course installation would be the best to show up.
I am thinking it would be the Disc Golfers cost with them allowing the use of the land.
PM if you want the info of whom to contact.

Re: Pulaski State Park
I could post the info for contact here but lets elect one person to be a Spoke Person for us.
We can get this rolling quick and start on it this Summer.
OK Here is the info
Hello,
We would like to meet to see if disc golf would fit in at Pulaski Park. As a approx. 100 acre year round recreation area, we may be able to accommodate a nine hole course. An onsite meeting would be the best way to discuss the possibility.

Re: Pulaski State Park
Pulaski is not too far from West Thompson, maybe like 15 minutes IIRC.

Looks great.
Maybe we can get a group together to work on both this one and Brooklyn since they are in close proximity.

Re: Pulaski State Park
Met with Paul, his regional supervisor and the superintendent of all RI state parks.
The Park is beautiful but a limited mulit-use area. We could probaly get a intermediate 9 hole course to fit.
It was a good priliminary meeting. I let them know who we are and how we are looking to grow the sport. We are not looking to make money off the park. They have limited to no funding, so funds would need to be raised. We would also be responsible for any equiptment installed.
I will look into participating in a family program the state offers for families to have outdoor adventures. We would set up a small area for a disc golf demo. This is a perfect place to meet all the RI Park decision makers and potentially check out new areas for development. I will post and ask for help when this happens. Here's the link.

I will follow up with an email to the park and put them together with the local players in the area to move things forward.

Re: Pulaski State Park
It does border on ct state land. They have a ton of unused land there.

Re: Pulaski State Park
Any news about this place?
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.
