In a nutshell, during the three years that Pokerpalooza ran (’06, ’07, ’08), it quickly became one of the the most highly sought after tournaments to play in. Touring pro’s Des and Jay Reading who played in the ’07 Pokerpalooza, called it one of the best run, most fun tournaments that they ever played in and even featured it in an article they did for PDGA’s Disc Golf World Magazine.
Pokerpalooza is the first leg of what will be a fundraising weekend for the Upper Charles Conservation Land Trust which is a regional not-for-profit land trust celebrating its twentieth year of conserving and protecting open space in Medfield and surrounding communities. The UCCLT and Norfolk Hunt Club have formed an alliance to keep open the many wonderful properties we mutually enjoy and to further the cause of land protection in our communities and since Pokerpalooza will take place at the Hunt Club in Medfield, it is a natural segway for the importance of preserving these beautiful open spaces. Your support of this disc golf weekend will help us to attain this goal. For more information about the UCCLT, please go to http://www.uppercharles.org.
Pokerpalooza will host a field of 90 players and will consist of two rounds of disc golf, along with an Invitational Texas Hold'em Tournament to be held after Pokerpalooza to players who qualify. There will also be some fun contests and games that will be held during the disc golf tournament itself as well as a pre-tournament tiki putter only-disc golf tournament for our sponsors on Thursday, June 14th.
Please consider blocking off the weekend so that you can come out and play on this unique piece of property which was seemingly made for disc golf. If you are able to to, we would certainly welcome your sponsorship and thank you for all of your support - entry into the tiki-tournament is well worth the price of sponsorship for those who are able.
