I got a call from a Hyzer Creek local saying that the people at Gore Mountain are very interested in adding disc golf to their list summer activities. I met with Mark Roberts on Saturday and checked out what they have laid out so far. It's got HUGE potential and they've already ordered 9 baskets and some discs. Talked with the Gore GM and he's ready to put up more $$ to make it a full 18.

I gave them some ideas to work with and will be returning to check it out once the baskets are delivered. They even had the foresight to get sleeves AND stands so that they can shift things around to get the deisgn just right.

Bottom line, I expect to see a course in the ground this year.

Try our new 9-Hole, Par 35 disc golf course!

A family-friendly experience with fun challenges. Holes range from 180 ft Par 3’s to 450+ ft par 5's. Each hole has a tee box and a disc basket which is the green. The first tee box is on The Arena, near the bottom of the Northwoods Gondola. The course gently winds through the base area and the holes highlight the natural terrain of Gore Mountain.

Each player will receive three discs: a driver for off the tee box, a mid-range for your approach shot, and a putter for around the green. Scoring is the same as golf- count the number of throws needed to place the disc in the basket.

Hole 1 - Drive north through the gap in the trees to your first basket. Don't get hung up in the branches.
Hole 2 - Continue north off the second tee, looking for the hidden basket in the rock garden on your left.
Hole 3 - Drive to the hilltop clearing, then a short throw to your left should find the basket.
Hole 4 - Cross The Gully with a long downhill drive to the fourth basket (stay left to avoid the water hazard).
Hole 5 - It's a quick drive up the road to basket 5 on the left, but don't lose your disc in the creek.
Hole 6 - Reach basket 6 with a straight, solid drive up Bear Cub Run. Can you birdie this one?
Hole 7 - After avoiding the trees on your first drive, head uphill to another hidden basket.
Hole 8 - Make long, powerful drives uphill to the eighth basket (keep going, you’ll get there).
Hole 9 - The home stretch, stay right on this long downhill drive. Wave to the crowd, they're watching from the gondola!
