Ccow and tcow- blowing off the fairways
Ccow- clearing around the circle of 12
Ccow- marking the 30m circles
Matt Aubin- working on 6 with chainsaw
Lick- building tee platform
Zoro- will weed whack like a mofo
Dan sullivan- helping lick and matt
Other tasks:
Bleach slippery tee pads
Thin right side of 18 (good tee shot landing area)(thinking about those lefties)
Garbage pick up.

Just wanted to post a big mucho mucho muchas Grasicas to all the Panthorn Crew especially Zoro for the way Thorn is looking these days.
Really unbelievable from what the course has become especially through all the adversity that storms can do to that course.
As much as I'm limited to getting out there (once a week

) - I always try to do at least the minimal contributing cleanup by picking up any junk along with prevention.
Thanks Again!

The course survived the recent rain storms nicely. Still no mud or standing water anywhere.
There are a couple new trees down in the left rough on 8. Nothing that needs taking care of.
There is a hanging limb high up on 5 that will need to be removed but is not in play unless you throw nose up and really high.
Course still looks great.

Hurricane Sandy report:
Limbs everywhere and Trees down on 5 and 8 again.
-On 5, The tree with the rec tee sign fell flat toward 8's pin blocking the left side approach to the pin.
-there is another tree down across the one in the middle that everyone drives to. Right at the turn in the fairway. Limbs completely block the fairway.
-another tree fell from right to left about 30' past that, across the fairway.
-on 8, tree fell in the direction of the fairway. Right side. More along the rough, but the root ball looks like [bleep].
-BiG tree leaning toward the turn of 8. Very dangerous. Not sure i can hadle this one alone...or at all. Wonder if we can pull it down the rest if the way? Please use caution until we can come up with something.
-ones basket just missed getting crushed when the double tree right of the basket broke off. It's just a big dead limb
-large broken limb down on the inside gap on 12.
-the rest are just sticks
Course just keeps opening up...
Gonna try being there Sunday morning. Anyone around? Maybe doubles/stick round after work?
The wood scavengers are already lurking and were walking through at the same time I was. Maybe they will take care of it for us....ill keep ya updated.

Course is pretty dry considering all the rain we had over the past few weeks. I really didn't notice any water (besides the hot tube being full) until I started walking down hole 15.
Great job on the post storm clean up!
If anyone is ever interested in playing a morning round drop me a line. I am available most mornings Tues-Friday.

I dragged most of the loose stuff from the left hand side of 12's fairway (right after the tee) The other stuff needs to be cut up a bit. I can bring a hand saw and work on it next time I'm there. (maybe tomorrow morning)
I played 18, left around 11:30

got a couple announcements:
first and foremost: congratulations to greg corvigno, who has embarked on the adventure of parenthood. Lil' Corvigno was born just a short time ago. please take a moment to congratulate him.
Ditter thanks for tackling the mess on 12.
the tee sign for 7 is missing and presumed dead...
1/1/13 NEWyearZDUBz is on! details were posted in the CT League section. hope to see everyone there.
new for 2013....i really feel that Laner's CR is attainable if not beatable. i'm putting a bounty on it. $100 to the first to beat it, $50 to the first to tie it. this will be for the entire Thursday LEAGUE season and for any tournaments held at the course. what will it take? no bogeys (4's) and nabbing birdies on all the "must gets" (#'s 4,6,7,10,11). #'s 12, 15, 16, 17 and 1 have been producing some birdies too. i feel that there is a 46 out there if someone can hold it together for the entire round. go get it!

Lost a favorite yellow broken in Sidewinder ( faded red FDR stamp) on the left hand side of hole 2's fairway. I saw it hit the ground right near the Charlie Brown small pine tree. Looked for as long as I could (had to head home for work) Would love to get it back.
thanks

There were two trees cut down on the right side of the opening of hole 3, right after leaving the field and entering the woods. The solo white birch and the tree to the right of it. Were these trees damaged and taken down intentionally or did the course get hit by another rogue chopper?
I didn't notice the removal when I was playing on Sunday. Since everything is wet it's hard to determine if it was a fresh cut or done sometime ago. Not loving the course losing some of it's challenge. Get better and beat the course instead of making the course easier (the previous statement is only if it was a rogue unauthorized cutting)
A few trenches were dug to allow the water to flow from the walkway between 3 and 4 and also just off 4's tee. I plan on putting pipes in to help with the flow on a long term basis.
