If you run into problems with the "paste right from excel" method, try pasting straight into notepad (DONT use any "fancy" text editors, unless you KNOW you're using a fixed-width font in your editor. Notepad by default is fixed-width character spacing, so it's always a sure bet)

Line it all up using spaces to create all the white space, NOT the Tab key. Tab will screw up the [ code ] tags on the forum.

Once it's all lined up, copy/paste the whole thing from notepad and put it in a post. And when in doubt, check it over using the "Preview" before hitting "Submit" to make sure you're happy with how it looks

Been asked about this before, you'd be the second.....

Should it be put above the General Discussion forum? Or in the NEFA News categories ?

I still gotta get my butt in gear with the Courses area...... Now that April Showers is over i have no excuse....

ORGANIZING THE MEMBER FORUM LIST IN SOME WAY. ALPHABETICAL. ETC. WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR SEARCHING NAMES.

The "Select sort method" drop down menu in the upper right corner on the list page. You can organize by username, real name, date joined, # of posts, etc.

So I came back to NEFA after many, many years away, and was a bit shocked to see the lack of players from the early years. Rick, Roy and Dave White were the only guys under NEFA #100 at the APO, and a brief scan through the active members seems to support the dearth of old-timers. So here is my idea...

How about we pick a number (#50, #25, #10?), under which you get exemption from tourney fees, or a significant discount, if you are an active member. It would give a little back to those who paved the way for NEFA as it is today, inspire a few to rejoin NEFA and I think everyone would benefit from the wisdom some of those older guys/gals could bring to the course.

Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic, but I would love to see more of those old folks spread throughout the scorecards. Plus I might actually get a chance to beat someone...

If you are exempt from tourney fees, that would result in exemption from tournament winnings as well, correct?

I had a rally going for a while on here to get an arcade, the siverfish longboarding thread has one, during the winter this could be key, plus it would be funny to compete for high scores on silly games,or not.....

Or an "All Irony All the Time" Category

I was looking at the event listing and I had a thought: Wouldn't it be convenient if there was direct link on the event info page that brought you directly to the tournament discussion forum? (go from here http://nefa.com/Events/eventView.asp?eventID=216 to here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6698 for example)

Just a thought, but how about splitting the league threads from the Hookups/Happenings section so that casual rounds and gatherings and workdays don't get burried by league chatter?

I think the last thing we need is more subdivided forums.

But thats just my opinion.

I thought about doing this back when I split up the courses by state . The state threads took some getting used to but I think for the most part everyone thinks it was a good change. I'll look into what it's gonna take to split leagues into it's own area.

A few weeks after Finals are over, I'm gonna move that section down to the bottom.

How about a link on the main page of the forums that takes you back to NEFA.com? Thoughts?

That was brought up when the new page was introduced but was shot down/never implemented.

I think the argument was "just open a new window/tab"

I would like that link, seeing how I only really go on the forum from my phone. It would be a lot easier to just tap one button.

I would argue that opening a new tab/window and typing an address is more effort than clicking a link, and that makes internet browsing slower. I think a link would make browsing faster. Faster internet is better internet.

The main page link is beyond my expertise. It's written into the web page code somehow. I know it can be done because the DisCap site is setup that way and we use the same forum software.

Dave McHale, pleeease look into changing this. I was approached at the Sunday ACT about this by a few people also.

The NEFA.com logo at the top left is hyperlinked. (not to NEFA.com but to the message board) Maybe that could come into play?

The board index link is already on all the forum pages having the logo go to nefa.com again would be nice.
