updated picture to better depict land and possible parking areas

once we establish starting area(parking lot)

I shall be seeking people for design logistics

Dave R and myself will be the project managers of sort

we shall then need scouts to start

I wanna send groups of 2 off into 4 quadrants of the land..take notes,pictures of noteworthy terrain,obstacles(wetlands ect ect)

report back to project managers with input then we shall take it from there

JB is on board

we need 5 more people for this early project work

Tomorrow myself,Dan G,Cupcake will be driving cart roads while taking GPS locations to map out where they all are(as there is many) then we can layer onto google earth and have a map of sorts for reference points..once this is done I will flag out quadrants for exploration and so we can all refer to locations with less confusion

Then we can take info/feedback/plan to forester doing the cut to see how it lines up logistically to his plan...hopefully I plan to meet with him before we explore so we have a better idea from start to not waste time

tweak it a lil I am sure and see where we stand

Tuesday 4/10 12:30PM to 3pm mapping of cart roads and land exploration

areas of interest
land south of cart road to west down to Home Trust land
parking area on south side of property Home Trust Land
how far,wide is beaver pond/brook
find key land features elevation spots,water,rock formations,tree diversity,unique landmarks stone walls/foundations/ect ect

walked the 1st parking area side with Big Dan G today

the beaver pond goes back to a small stream quick...very very crossable
a mnt bike trail is defined along the stream area
the stream comes to a snow mobile trail with bridge heading west

if ya look east from there it goes to powerlines and some make shift camp area and more small mnt bike/walking trails

the snow mobile trail intersect the cart road to 1st parking area and makes a nice defined rectangle plenty big enough and diverse enough for a sweet 18

south of snow mobile trail is getting into redickulous reality rather possible...the power lines are no mans land as

so if we CAN use the 1st proposed parking area we have are plot of land to dial in as it kinda forms itself and we will get some very unique land to work with

its sketchy to cross beaver dam close to 140 and is longer walk and wet then just designing something buffered from that..actually found a sick area for a green...and then playing along stream and even across if wanted

Since we are in a 2 part phase of sorts lets keep alil separation from 1 parking area to the other as the length to fuse over stream/pond is rather long distance..unrealistic for now maybe if 2 courses eventually go in..but for now it is one side or the other IMO for the most part

I wanna find out if that snow mobile bridge links the sides of land together and how far from cart road parking area to that bridge and the roads to take to get there if so

Dans GPS was acting up so no cart road mapping on other side yet...the other side is kinda just woods..and cart roads no real wow factor from what I have seen...so shot selction in design would be key..instead of sweet land creating great unique shots like other side

I may find other wise but I suspect a "same feel" kinda thing on that side

still need to plot from Home trust area and check it all out from south parking area to even see if it is worth considering that option or if the parking is no better situation then where we are at now

so key thing is meeting w/ forester next and some more exploration of cart road side and south home trust side

the main parking area is all set in regards to prelim scout I know it will work perfectly no matter how we design

so lets cover it all and then I will propose situations to city officials and see where we are at

currently in discussions with forester to line up a date so we can get on same page for project as we shall be working directly with him..we need to meet

Thanks to Austin Brooks...he is normally an excited guy but NO BS this guy is pumped for this project and has pledged to give 100% to what eva is needed up there!!...he is a BULL and brings some solid friends for work/input to the table

so we have Dave/Titan meeting with officials..mayor/CDP,City Eng,Forester,whoever else

we have to meet forester as IMO he will be the top of the food chain in final design say..
so we have Dave/Titan overseeing design input from multiple groups

I would like 4 groups of 2 and focus on key areas then swap..vice versa..some may wanna work at X cuz they have a car and can't drive to X ect ect so that will come together

so we have are scouting crew no frets if your not on list as ya can fall into one of the other groups..nothing in stone at this stage IMO

we will also need work crews in on the loop so once we start work the punch list can be followed for efficient work and no wasted energy..I plan to use community service crews,boyscout,forester crew,ect ect at times so heavy work load is not on DG backs at all times and we can focus on the major DG aspects

we shall scout,plan logistics,design,map/flag,work work work tweak ya get the point

bring in a few VETs,Newbs to review play the fairways and see where we stand

Dave R will handle basket contributions I believe as he has good local relationship with area businesses and is central has plans to plant a DG anchor in Gardner!!! The plan is to focus efforts on Gardner business so a link from to DG to area business is established right off..for promotion,future sponsorship,over all to get a positive vibe going

Thoughts on potential businesses to approach would be helpful..I have a semi plan but am not exactly local to know who are the givers around Gardner..
9 is the goal..think small then 9 more just show up..trust me

this is one of those we gotta go up the full city ladder thing..the hole 9

so this will take a lil time but I will have the design incorporated into the forest management cut so the work for DG'ers will be minimal...so once we get to that stage it will go quicker then the pre planning stages
